Stan Chesley ordered to pay $42 million

Dear fellow tax hikers, Democratic super-donor Stan Chesley has been ordered to pay $42 million as a result of his (alleged) misconduct during the infamous fen-phen case.

"Chesley is one of several attorneys accused of violating ethics rules and skimming cash from clients after attorneys received the bulk of the $200 million fen-phen settlement in 2001, despite contracts with clients stating they were entitled to less than one-third of the money."

Chesley was later disbarred.

He made a name for himself as a super-donor to Democratic campaigns, even purchasing his wife a federal judgeship.  Sometimes Chesley even donated to Republicans - the good ones like Jean Schmidt

Chesley may be disbarred, but he continues to be a major player due to his checkbook.  Though now, it's about $42 million lighter.

Crystal Faulkner backs Jean Schmidt

Dear fellow tax hikers, we have learned that our friend Crystal Faulkner Cooney is upset - no, OFFENDED - that she is not getting enough credit for her Republican donations.  We wouldn't want to offend MS. Faulkner, so we're going to skip our scheduled edition of The Crystal Faulkner Democratic Donation of the Week and instead highlight one of her best Republican donations.

When Crystal isn't donating to Democrats like David Pepper, Chris Seelbach, and Mark Mallory, she does indeed support some Republicans.  Such as the highly ethical former Congressman Jean Schmidt.

When it was time to defeat that conservative veteran Brad Wenstrup again, Crystal stepped up to the plate by donating $300 to the embattled Jean Schmidt.  This was not the first time MS. Faulkner worked against Wenstrup - she also supported Mayor Mark Mallory against him in 2009.

By supporting Jean Schmidt, MS. Faulkner demonstrated her support for:

- higher Sales Taxes
- Wall Street bailouts
- higher Gas Taxes
- more food stamps
- higher hotel/motel taxes; AND
- Jean Schmidt's incredibly high ethical standards

Nobody understands better than Crystal Faulkner the need to keep Brad Wenstrup from serving the public.  That's why she supports Democrats and Republicans alike to take him down.  This year Wenstrup is facing four Democratic opponents for his seat in Congress.  Which one of them will MS. Crystal Faulkner Cooney support?

Jean Schmidt Tribute

Dear fellow tax hikers, right now our movement's leaders are huddled around the computer crying our eyes out mourning the fact that today is Jean Schmidt's final day in office.  We are unbelievably angry at everyone who made this happen.  We are disgusted that a conservative military man Brad Wenstrup will be replacing her in Congress.  Just because Wenstrup served in the military doesn't mean he knows a thing about service.  He isn't fit to hold her laxatives!

During tough times like these, at least we have each other.  This post is dedicated to honoring Jean Schmidt and all the things she did to grow our government.  And boy, is it a long list!

While serving in the State House, Jean Schmidt was a rubber stamp for the agenda of our great Governor Bob Taft.  When Taft wanted to raise Ohio's Sales Tax 20%, Schmidt didn't have to be asked twice.  When it was time to raise Ohio's Gas Tax by 27% because gas prices were too low, Schmidt willingly obliged.  And in one of her underrated acts, she was the prime sponsor of legislation to more than double Hamilton County's Hotel/Motel Tax, legislation that was backed by 2008 Tax Hiker of the Year Virgil Lovitt and signed into law by Governor Taft.

As a Congresswoman, Schmidt was able to raise taxes and grow spending on a whole new level.  Congresswoman Schmidt proudly voted to bail out the billionaires on Wall Street.  She voted to axe all of the tax cuts passed during the Bush era, which would have resulted in huge tax hikes for all working Americans.  She passionately condemned any cuts in the Food Stamp program, which has seen unprecedented growth during The Messiah's presidency.  We are also enormously proud of Congresswoman Schmidt's numerous ethical scandals, to include being named one of the nation's Most Corrupt Members of Congress

Jean Schmidt has done so much to make us proud.  We ask you, our fellow tax hikers, to share with us some of your favorite Jean Schmidt memories.

Virgil Lovitt Tribute

Dear fellow tax hikers, by this time next week our dear close friends Simon Leis, Jean Schmidt and Virgil Lovitt will be out of office.  While many others will celebrate the New Year when the ball drops tomorrow night, we tax hikers will be huddled around together crying our eyes out at the loss of these great public servants.

The first to leave office is our beloved 2008 Tax Hiker of the Year Virgil Lovitt, who leaves office tomorrow.  Virg is perhaps the finest local elected official we have and his departure is a huge loss for all of us.

This man has joyously raised Property Taxes, Earnings Taxes, Sales Taxes, Hotel/Motel Taxes, and has done so much more.  He endorsed Todd Portune's re-election while opposing our enemy Pat DeWine, endorsed Bob Taft's 3rd Frontier program so Ohio can fund its own Solyndras, and was one of Jean Schmidt's closest Hamilton County friends.

His contributions to the tax-and-spend movement have been immeasurable.  In honor of Virg, we dedicate this post to all the taxes he has raised and all the good things he has done for us.  This post will not be a funeral, but instead a tribute to a man who has earned it.

To honor Virg, we ask all you tax hikers to tell us your favorite Virgil Lovitt memories.

Jail Tax supporter's law license suspended

Dear fellow tax hikers, we are disgusted to learn that former Ohio Attorney General Marc Dann's law license has been suspended for 6 months.  This unanimous decision by The Ohio Supreme Court followed Dann's criminal convictions for soliciting improper compensation and filing a false financial disclosure.

We are big fans of Marc Dann.  When we were fighting to raise Hamilton County's Sales Tax in 2007, Dann was the highest-level elected official to endorse this plan.  Attorney General Dann stood shoulder-to-shoulder with other tax hikers such as Simon Leis, Sean Donovan, David Pepper, Tax Hikin' Rick Bryan, and Roxanne Qualls to urge the voters to support this excellent tax increase.

So what if he's been convicted of some crimes?  So was the great Bob Taft.  And Jean Schmidt also filed false forms and illegally took over $500,000 in gifts from Turkish interests, and she didn't lose our support.  Mr. Dann is being targeted by The Man for his strong pro-tax views.  We believe the voters and the criminal justice system should stop worrying about the criminal behavior of Marc Dann, Bob Taft, and Jean Schmidt and instead respect all of the tax increases they have given us.

Smith

Dear fellow tax hikers, some guy named Smith is running for Congress against our enemy Brad Wenstrup.  We have never seen Smith, we know nothing about him, we wouldn't know it was him if he bumped into us, and we have no idea what he thinks about anything.

Therefore, we give our enthusiastic endorsement to William Smith for Congress.  Smith is running against the evil conservative military man Brad Wenstrup, and that is enough for us to endorse him.

Col. Wenstrup had no right to run for Congress against our good friend Jean Schmidt.  He certainly had no right to win.  Wenstrup must be stopped.  Just because he served our country in Iraq doesn't mean he knows anything about service.

We know you don't know anything about Smith.  We don't know anything about Smith.  In fact, Democratic leaders don't know anything about Smith.  But we expect you all to vote for him.  Some Guy Named Smith for Congress!

Junketing Jean Schmidt

Dear fellow tax hikers, while we Jean Schmidt supporters have been crying in our milk since her humiliating defeat, Jean herself has been living it large as she tours the world courtesy of special interest groups and the 53% of taxpaying Americans.  According to the USA Today, Jean is one of several lame duck lawmakers who are spending their final months in office flying the globe

We disagree with the Public Citizen watchdog who criticized these global siestas.

The lawmakers describe these trips as fact-finding missions that will shape their thinking on legislation. Citing partisan stalemates on Capitol Hill, Craig Holman of the watchdog group Public Citizen instead calls them "vacations for retiring members of Congress."

We repudiate this mean-spirited criticism.  After all the years Jean has spent raising taxes, bailing out Wall Street, jacking up spending and debt, and breaking numerous ethics laws, nobody deserves a series of free international expeditions more than our Congresswoman Schmidt.  We are certain her dedicated Hamilton County acolytes will agree with us.

We tax hikers are still bitter at the way she was treated by Republican primary voters earlier this year.  That military guy Brad Wenstrup had no right to run against her, and he certainly had no right to win.  That was Jean's seat.  She was entitled to hold it.  Our Jean Schmidt will rise again....if she ever returns from her global travels.

Jean Schmidt bringin' sexy back

Dear fellow tax hikers, we are privileged to share with you that Jean Schmidt has been named one of America's sexiest politicians!  You know it.  We know it.  Jean is Mad Sexy and she knows it!

Step aside Mary Taylor and Brad Wenstrup, no politician in Ohio is hotter than Jean Schmidt.  Our only regret is that Eve Bolton wasn't named with her.

It's a real shame Congresswoman Schmidt won't be returning to Congress.  Jean is a wonderful person.  Jean is an ethical person.  Jean is warm and friendly.  And now it has been proven that Jean is one of the sexiest politicians in America!

Schmidt raised nothing for legal expense fund

Dear fellow tax hikers, recent filings have shown that our beloved Congresswoman Jean Schmidt raised exactly zero dollars for her Legal Expense Fund in this year's 2nd quarter.  Schmidt raised only $5010 total in prior quarters.  At this rate, she will pay off the approximately $515,000 she owes in a future century.

In reality, even that is an optimistic scenario.  Legal experts generally agree that the order from the House Ethics Committee to pay these legals bills carries no weight once Schmidt is no longer a Congressman.  The only way those bills will be paid is if Jean Schmidt proves to be a woman of great integrity.  LOL LOL LOL LOL!

As all of our readers know, these legal fees were incurred during a lawsuit Schmidt filed against David Krikorian because he said something mean about her.  Her case was handled by Turkish interests and over $500,000 of legal fees were paid for by the Turkish Coalition of America, violating Congressional gift rules by, oh, over $500,000.  Schmidt insists that she had no idea she was receiving these illegal gifts.

We completely believe that a U.S. Congressman can take illegal gifts of over $500,000 and not know about it.  It happens to us all the time!

We applaud Jean Schmidt for filing a lawsuit because somebody said something mean about her.  We applaud her for illegally accepting over $500,000 of gifts.  We applaud her for failing to report those gifts.  We applaud her for defying the House Ethics Committee's order to repay those funds.  We are still very upset that she was defeated in March's primary by some conservative man who served his country in the military.  With a record like this, who could ever want to see Jean Schmidt ejected from Congress?

Jean Schmidt opposes Food Stamp cuts

Dear fellow tax hikers, we are enormously proud of our Congresswoman Jean Schmidt today as she stood up to her Republican colleagues to fight against cuts to the Food Stamp program.  Food Stamps are a great way to show that yes, there is such thing as a free lunch, and it's the taxpayers who make it "free".

During the Obama Administration the number of Americans on food stamps has risen 44%, up to a record 46 million Americans.  We think that's great and so does Congresswoman Schmidt.

This is our Jean Schmidt at her finest.  Jean voted to raise Income Taxes on all taxpaying Americans.  Jean raised Gas Taxes by 27%.  Jean raised Ohio's Sales Tax by 20%. Jean voted to bail out her billionaire friends on Wall Street, including the parent company of her husband.  Jean held a public makeout session with Our Messiah Barack Obama on national television.  Now she is joining President Obama to defend the expanded welfare state.

It makes us sick to our tax-hiking stomachs that the great Jean Schmidt was defeated by Brad Wenstrup in this March's primary.  We need her tax-and-spend voice on Capitol Hill.  We stand behind Congressman Schmidt 100% as she spends her final few months teaming up with President Obama to defend the expansion of the welfare state.  You go girl!

The Jean Schmidt Dean Scream

Dear fellow tax hikers, our great Congresswoman Jean Schmidt continues to make us proud as she serves out her final few months in Congress.  In fact, Schmidt was caught on camera making an unforgettable reaction to last week's infamous health care ruling.  We proudly call this The Jean Schmidt Dean Scream.  See/hear it for yourself:

We are enormously pleased with this Supreme Court ruling.  It confirms that ObamaCare is a tax increase.  We can't wait for this ObamaCare Tax Increase to be fully implemented.

Jean's primal screams will never be forgotten.  The strange noises coming out of her mouth remind us of another famous scream:

Many have long said that Jean Schmidt is the Howard Dean of the Republican Party.  We could not agree more.  We're going to miss her so much when she has to leave office.

Jean Schmidt corruption scandal deepens

Dear fellow tax hikers, today the world has learned significant new information about the ongoing Jean Schmidt corruption scandal.  Her latest disclosure forms reveal that Schmidt accepted another $153,000 in illegal gifts in 2011 from the Turkish Coalition of America, after she was told by the House Ethics Committee she was under investigation for taking illegal gifts.  These disclosures bring her cumulative illegal gifts to over $582,000.

The blog CorruptUSA points out that our beloved Congresswoman Schmidt did what the Ethics Committee expressly told Congressman Charlie Rangel he couldn't do - allow third parties to pay her legal fees without first setting up a legal expense fund.  That's our Jean Schmidt!  She has never been one to follow the law.  Schmidt has found herself in one scandal after another throughout her public career.

We are very proud of Jean Schmidt for everything she has done - ethics violations, raising numerous taxes, huge spending increases, bailouts for billionaires, and much more.  Like many of her supporters such as Campaign Expert PhD Julie Matheny, we are still very bitter about her loss in the March primary to that military man Brad Wenstrup.  He had no right to challenge her!  We deserved two more years of our great Congresswoman Schmidt.  Rise up and show your support for our corrupt Congresswoman Jean Schmidt!

Jean Schmidt's Clermont County PAC supporters

Dear fellow tax-hikers, more good news to celebrate.  As we celebrate Tax Week, we are thrilled to honor three more heroes who deserve to have their efforts honored.  Several Jean Schmidt supporters in Clermont County created their own fake "Republican Slate Card" to make it appear that our Jean and their other friends were the endorsed Republicans, when in fact they were not.

That's right, in a classic Friday night document dump, Joe Braun's Clermont County Republican Leadership PAC filed their FEC report.  Contrary to some fears, the names of the financial backers of this heroic effort won't go unknown.

The financial support for the sample ballots meant to confuse Clermont County Republicans into voting our Jean Schmidt, Dandy Don White, and Jean's former slave Phone Boy Nick Owens are none other than R. Scott Croswell ($1500); Holiday Homes, Inc. ($1000); and Lykins Companies, Inc. ($5000).

And let's not forget the unsung heroes - the vendors.  Because after all, what good would those 30 pieces of silver have done the Romans if Judas wasn't there to take it?

So our hats off to Tammy Adelhardt (nee Braun) for her great work in "designing" those ballots.  Is it really designing when you're simply trying to not quite copy the legitimate sample ballot?  But whatever, your efforts will be rewarded above.

Not to be outdone the good folks at Blue Chip Mailing Services made sure those misleading mailers got out in time to have, well, absolutely no effect on the races that mattered.  Some Schmidt supporters think this stunt even backfired.

Once again, our special friend in taxes, Joe Braun, came up a little short in the political acumen department.  We sure hope he's a better attorney than he is a political strategist!

If only Schmidt lackeys MS. Vicky Zwissler and Campaign Expert PhD Julie Matheny had been asked to do more, we might have won!

We salute these tax-hiking heroes for everything they did support our fantastic Congresswoman Jean Schmidt.  It's just not fair that those horrible limited government crusaders in COAST and the Tea Parties got to have all the fun on election night.

Jean Schmidt's Big Donors

Dear fellow tax hikers, today we will begin a new series: A Salute to Heroes.  We will recognize the financial contributions of the area's best and brightest to Jean Schmidt's losing campaign.

These selfless heroes forked over thousands and thousands of dollars without asking anything in return.  Not even that Jean use the funds to run an actual campaign!

With that, we present to you, the first inductees into our Hall of Fame:

George Vincent, Dinsmore and Shohl:  $1500
Mike Brown, Bengals Owner:  $2500
Robert Economou:  $1875
Charles Kubicki, Cincinnati United Contractors:  $1000
Gary Greenberg, Denlinger Rossenhl and Greenberg:  $1000
A. David Davis, Check and Go:  $1000
Jared Davis, CNG Financial Corp:  $1500
Michelle Schneider, 2009 Tax Hiker of the Year:  $1000
Anthony (Tony) Maas, JTM Provisions:  $5000
Barb Maas, JTM Provisions:  $5000
Joseph Maas, JTM Provisions:  $5000
Otto Budig, Parsec:  $1500
Thomas Avril, The G.A. Avril Co:  $3500
Diana Avril:  $5000
Frederick Bryan, Bryan Equipment Sales:  $4000
Wayne Carucci:  $2500
Michael Castrucci, Castrucci Automotive:  $2500
Donald LaRosa, LaRosa's:  $5000
Robert Coughlin, Paycor:  $2500
Ian Guttman, Hills Realty:  $2500
Gary Heiman, Standard Textile Co:  $2500
Keith Jensen, AFG:  $2500
Keith Lindner, Chiquita Brands:  $2500
Craig Lindner, Great American Insurance:  $2500
Thomas Quinn, ILSCO:  $2500
Ed Steiner, KMK Law Firm:  $1250

These are just some of the people that donated $1000 or more after that jerk Brad Wenstrup announced his candidacy.  They represent the true visionaries!  The people who, even in the face of our Jeannie's numerous ethics scandals, decided to double down in their support for our girl Jean.  For your loyalty to the cause of higher taxes and unethical behavior, we will never forget.

Over the next few weeks, we will be honoring more of Jean's supporters, including presenting awards to special friends of Jean.

Jean Schmidt drops Turkish-backed lawsuit against David Krikorian

Dear fellow tax hikers, our great Congresswoman Jean Schmidt has abruptly dropped her $6.8 million defamation lawsuit against Armenian-American David Krikorian.  Schmidt filed this lawsuit because Krikorian said something mean about her in the 2008 elections.  We firmly believe this justified a $6.8 million lawsuit, funded illegally by foreign special interest groups.

It's kind of ironic that this Turkish-funded lawsuit ended shortly after the voters ended Schmidt's run in Congress.  Many believe Schmidt's extensive cohorting with Turkish special interests, and the ethics woes it led to, ultimately caused her humiliating defeat against the evil conservative Brad Wenstrup.

This lawsuit was illegally funded by affiliates of the Turkish Coalition of America.  Schmidt accepted nearly $500,000 of legal services from them, but claimed she had no idea it was illegal.  We totally believe her.  After all, we frequently accept $500,000 gifts from people without knowing whether they are legal.  Maybe Schmidt believed these extensive legal costs were being paid for by The Legal Fairy.

Sure enough, the fine Congressional Ethics Committee believed Schmidt.  They declared that these gifts were indeed illegal, but also said Schmidt didn't do anything wrong because she had no idea what was going on.  Why couldn't the voters reach the same conclusion?  Why is it so hard for some people to believe that a Congressman could receive $500,000 in illegal gifts from foreign special interests for an expensive lawsuit without knowing these gifts violated the law?

We condemn the voters for replacing our Jeannie with conservative military veteran Brad Wenstrup.  She served our country nearly as well as she served her Turkish benefactors.  Without those benefactors giving her huge illegal gifts, Schmidt would have had to fund her own lawsuit against Krikorian and she didn't want to do that.  Because of this, Krikorian will be able to get away with saying mean things about our beloved Jean Schmidt and that's not fair.

Schmidt dined with Turkey Ambassador, on Election Day

Dear fellow tax hikers, we have recently learned some astonishing information about our great Congresswoman Jean Schmidt.  While disgusting conservative military veteran Brad Wenstrup was here defeating Jean on Election Day, Congresswoman Schmidt was in Washington, D.C. dining with the Ambassador of Turkey to the United States!

At times, Rep. Jean Schmidt has been closer to Turkish interests than those of her Cincinnati-area constituents. Never was that proximity problem more telling than on Tuesday, when Republicans denied Schmidt renomination to run for another term.

While voters were casting ballots that day, Schmidt was in Washington, D.C., at a private luncheon with Turkish Ambassador Namik Tan, several sources told POLITICO.
The decision to stay in the nation’s capital - and particularly to focus on Turkish-American relations - is the best evidence yet that Schmidt simply didn’t get how much trouble she was in back home.

We hear our conservative critics have been laughing all day about this most-ironic news.

On this one issue, we are going to join the criticism of Jean Schmidt.  We worked hard for her.  Our allies worked hard for her.  We were all here in SW Ohio trying to win this race for her.  Schmidt should have been here too helping us save her career.  We feel let down by her absence.

We will continue to defend Jean on everything else.  We strongly defend her numerous votes for higher taxes.  We will defend her bailouts for billionaires on Wall Street.  We will defend her many ethical transgressions that may have cost her the election.  We hope she rises again.  But if we ever support her again, she better park it here on Election Day.

Post-election wrapup

Dear fellow tax hikers, in the past few days we have mourned the loss of our good friend Jean Schmidt to the evil conservative military veteran Brad Wenstrup.  However, there were other items on Election Day and we must review those too.

First, we would like to congratulate Lonnie Bowling for a solid first-time run for State Representative.  Lonnie received an impressive 11% of the vote in a 2-way race, holding Mike Wilson's margin of victory to under 80 points.  To our knowledge, we were Lonnie's only endorsement.  We are pleased that our endorsement may have pushed him into the double digits.

On the positive side, there were several tax increases that passed, including all 3 that we endorsed!  The citizens of the Princeton School District, Wyoming School District, and Forest Hills School District will all enjoy the benefits of higher taxation.  We were especially pleased with the passage of the Princeton levy.  Princeton Schools already spend more money than 98% of school districts in Ohio.  Now they will spend even more!  They have a real chance at becoming the absolute biggest #1 spenders in Ohio.

We were very pleased to see Mike Brown's own bought-and-paid-for State Representative Peter Stautberg defeat our enemy Tom Brinkman.  Brinkman is an anti-tax conservative who opposed the Stadium Sales Tax hike and all of Bob Taft's tax increases.  Stautberg benefited from 6-figures worth of tv ads that were highly misleading, but that's fine with us.  We at Republicans for Higher Taxes never let ethics get in the way of our big government agenda - after all, we endorsed Jean Schmidt.

Finally, we condemn a prominent Armenian newspaper for their mean comments about Jean Schmidt.  It disgusts us that the Armenian paper Asbarez referred to our Jeannie as the "biggest Turkish whore in the U.S. House of Representatives."  Jean Schmidt is not a Turkish whore.  Schmidt might be a Wall Street whore, or one of Bob Taft's whores, or a Stan Chesley whore, but she is not a Turkish whore.  Jean's loss was a travesty and one we will not forget.

Jean Schmidt's defeat, 48 hours later

Dear fellow tax hikers, all of the political talk in Southwest Ohio has been focused on the shocking upset of our friend Jean Schmidt by the evil conservative military veteran Brad Wenstrup.  We, and our allies, have taken this loss very hard.  Our Jeannie embodied our values.  It hurts to lose someone this great.

We ask you, our loyal supporters, to tell us why our Congresswoman Jean Schmidt was defeated.  Is it:

A)  Her support for higher Sales Taxes, Gas Taxes, and Income Taxes
B)  Voting for the Wall Street bailouts
C)  Voting to raise the debt ceiling
D)  Her numerous ethical scandals, including the revelation that she accepted $500,000 in illegal gifts from foreign interests
E)  The bad karma inflicted on her campaign by some of her supporters who are talented at losing elections
F)  Make-out sessions with Our Messiah Barack Obama
G)  Her disappearance from the campaign trail for most of the year

We want to read your thoughts.  Please post your answers in the comments section.  Through togetherness, maybe we can begin to heal from our pain.

Jean Schmidt defeated

Dear fellow tax hikers, we and all our allies wake up this morning in a deep state of shock and anger at the surprise defeat of our great Congresswoman Jean Schmidt.  However, we know we have a duty to be here to be the shoulder that all tax-and-spend Republicans can cry on.  We blame the Tea Party, COAST, and conservative voters for joining together to defeat our tax-and-spend hero Jean.  We are angry about this and will take decisive action in response.

Already, Jean Schmidt shill blogger Matt Hurley has decided to start a hunger strike.  And we hear Campaign Expert Ph.D. Julie Matheny may ban herself from Facebook, for about 20 minutes anyways.  This is just the beginning.  You have not heard the last from Schmidt and her supporters.

We're going to miss Jean Schmidt.  We're going to miss her many tax increases.  We're going to miss her bailouts for the wealthiest amongst us.  We're going to miss her big spending.  We will deeply miss her numerous ethical scandals and public make-out sessions with Barack Obama.

Brad Wenstrup can enjoy his win tonight.  Just know in two years we will take this seat back.  We will not allow the conservatives to hold this position for long.
