Green Township Endorsements

Dear fellow tax hikers, we are proud to endorse David Linnenberg and Rocky Boiman for Green Township Trustee.  This is because they are the best and most qualified candidates in the race - well, it's either that, or we have make-work jobs in Green Township's government that we want to keep.

Dave Linnenberg is one of our favorite elected officials.  Dave was the Volunteer Coordinator for Citizens for a Major League Future - otherwise known as the Bedinghaus/Qualls Stadium Tax!  Stadium Dave did more than almost anyone to make those stadiums a reality.  For some reason Stadium Dave deleted that from his official Green Township bio, but before he did we saved a copy of that reference. 

We also believe Rocky Boiman deserves another term.  We were guardedly hopeful when Rocky was appointed to this position, considering that his Political Action Committee had donated to Democrats P.G. Sittenfeld and the far-left Jason Riveiro.  Rocky has done a fine job, putting in a solid 3 or 4 hours per month at the job. 

Thankfully, both candidates have proudly retained the "friends and family" culture of Green Township's government.  They have either voted for or extended the employment of those who were hired based on their family relations. 

Most importantly, do NOT vote for Jeffry Smith.  This insolent peasant has repeatedly questioned the use of Green Township tax dollars and the policies of hiring unqualified friends and relatives of Green Township's royal families for township jobs.  We need to stop Smith, and that can be accomplished by voting for Rocky Boiman and Stadium Dave Linnenberg.

Finally, we will leave you with a heartfelt letter of endorsement from Alex Triantafilou.  This election is of prime importance for Alex - part of his household's income depends on the re-election of Stadium Dave and Rocky.

Most of you getting this email are friends and neighbors who we believe live in Green Township.

As some of you may know, I've been leading the County Republican Party for 5 years and in that capacity, you may have seen me pop-off in the local media and most certainly in social media about the GOP and our efforts.  I try, hard, to not bring it into my social life with friends and associates like you.  (edit - but he's happy to insert his family's employment needs into Green Township's government)

In what is an absolute first, I'm emailing my personal email list today to seriously ask you to look at the candidates running in our home township, Green Township, and be sure to go and VOTE for Rocky Boiman and David Linnenberg on Tuesday.

I make this personal plea because having Dave and Rocky as our local Trustees is important to our home values and our way of life every day in our neighborhoods.  (edit: not to mention his wife's job)

This email is even going to some Democratic friends--and that's okay.  I feel so strongly about Boiman and Linnenberg that I think you will agree that they are good men doing a great job.  (edit - Democrats should appreciate Stadium Dave's high-tax past)

Dave Linnenberg went to Oak Hills High School, my alma mater and yours, possibly, too.  Dave is a wonderful guy.  He has two beautiful daughters, he manages the business of Cincinnati's Art Museum--one of the preeminent art museums in the country.  He RUNS the day-to-day of that business.  If you knew Dave as I do, you would know that he cares about his home township and he knows about finance sound management.  Without hesitation, I know you would entrust Dave with your business and affairs because he's bright and is a man of high character.  As much as I hate to say it about my buddy because I know he'll probably see it--Dave is very, very smart.  He brings that intellect to the day-to-day business of running our home township and that means better results for all of us!  Dave's parents still live in our Township and his roots run deep here.  (edit - thankfully we had Stadium Dave's intelligence, character, and roots to help Bob Bedinghaus and Roxanne Qualls pass the Stadium Tax)

Rocky Boiman grew up on Reemelin Road, in the heart of Green Township, and was a football star.  You learn some key lessons playing 8 years in the NFL and those qualities of hard work, dedication and leadership make Rock one of the greatest candidates we can field, anywhere.  Rocky won a Super Bowl playing on the same team as Peyton Manning.  Do you think you learn about hard work and dedication doing that?  Did I mention that Rocky Boiman graduated from the prestigious University of Notre Dame?  Can we find a better guy to elect to run our Township?  No way.  Rocky and his wonderful wife live in our Township and are expecting a baby boy soon.  Rocky's father and mother both live in the Township and his roots run very deep here, too.  Rocky currently runs his own business training other athletes and is a budding sports commentator with a huge future in his other professional life.  Like Dave, Rocky is well-educated, smart, and understands our local
 community very well.   Aren't we lucky to have someone of his caliber managing our business in Green Township?  (edit: Rocky played football, and he does what we say, so vote for him)

Again, I've never sent this kind of personal plea to my friends and neighbors.  And I am unlikely to do it again. (edit - do you promise?)  (I didn't do anything like this even in a presidential election year!)  But, our local community government is too important.  I can vouch for the personal integrity and intelligence of both of these guys as I consider them both personal friends.  They work hard, they are smart, and they care about OUR community.  They are not ANGRY and they're not doing this to achieve some higher political office.  They are both accomplished guys outside of politics and they are in it to serve.  I believe this to my core.

Finally, you might ask: "Alex, what have they done for the Township?"  Well, I could make this already long email even longer.   But, here's a few highlights.

-  They SUED the public housing authority to PROTECT us from public housing.  In an unprecedented move, these guys fought the federal government to protect your home values and our neighborhood.  They were successful!  The federal government insisted on building a large number of units in our Township, but the lawsuit changed that!
-  They make basic services, like police and fire, a priority by spending money wisely and investing only in places where it can help our community as a whole.
-  They have built new parks to keep our Township attractive to new and growing families.  Balancing that need with the fiscal sanity necessary to run our Township in tough times is serious business and they've been leaders in that regard.
-  They are working to bring positive development, like the new Mercy Hospital and the new Deweys/First Watch coming to Harrison Avenue.
-  They have negotiated pay freezes with unions during a down economy so that your money is being frugally managed during a tough budget.  Township staff is down and raises have not occurred in years as the Trustees have grappled with cuts to estate taxes and the local government funds coming from Columbus.  They have been wise with OUR MONEY!
I could go on...

Vote the Big Government Ballot on Tuesday!

Dear fellow tax hikers, Election Day is almost here and we can't wait to vote for higher taxes, bigger government, and for candidates who share our beliefs.  We are going to recap the endorsements we have already made, plus add a few more.

Top Priority - Re-elect Tax Hikin' Rick Bryan for Blue Ash City Council.  Rick is our 2011 Tax Hiker of the Year and his loss would be a huge setback for our pro-tax movement. 

Green Township Trustee - Vote against Jeffry Smith.  Green Township cannot afford a Trustee who will oppose nepotism and look out for the taxpayers.

Cincinnati City Council - Re-elect Leslie Ghiz, who in her career has endorsed a huge Sales Tax increase, voted to build the Streetcar, subsidized The Freedom Center, and endorsed Democrat David Pepper for County Commissioner to help the Democrats take over Hamilton County.  We also give our endorsement to deadbeat Jason Riveiro, tax-hiking goddess Roxanne Qualls, tax-hiking gay activist Chris Seelbach, and the streetcar-obsessed Laure Quinlivan. 

Wyoming City Council - We implore you to support MS. Vicky Zwissler in spite of her past electoral failures.  We also lend our support to ethically-challenged Democrat Jim O'Reilly, who was sanctioned by the Ohio Supreme Court for violating Judicial Canon 7(E)(1), and Barry Porter who loves higher taxes and gun control as much as he loves Twinkies and chocolate ice cream.  All three of these fantastic tax increasers voted to raise Wyoming's Income Tax by 60%. 

Sycamore School Board - You must vote against fiscal conservative Colleen Greissinger.  There is no room on this 5-person board for one single person who is fiscally conservative and opposes higher taxes.

Northwest School Board - We need you to vote against fiscal conservative Dan Unger.  Dan has said no to higher taxes and is trying to control spending.  Both of these ideas are unacceptable, as we need higher taxes and out-of-control spending. 

Colerain Fiscal Officer - It's urgent to vote against Heather Harlow.  Not only is she a fiscal conservative who dared to oppose Hamilton County Sales Tax increase in 2007, she is also a woman who supports our 2nd Amendment rights.  She needs to learn her role.

Sharonville Mayor - We are 100% behind Virgil Lovitt, our 2008 Tax Hiker of the Year.  He has so many more taxes to raise. 

Issue 2 - Vote NO!  We want union deciding how to spend your tax dollars, not our elected officials.  Voting down Issue 2 makes it more likely we'll need higher taxes in the near future!

Issue 3 - Vote NO!  We fully support Obamacare.  This issue opposes Obamacare and prohibits Ohio from enacting it's own Obama-style health care.

Issue 32 - This is a huge property tax increase so we fully support it.  

Issue 37 - This is a tax issue, therefore vote yes.

Issue 38 - This is a tax issue, therefore vote yes.

Issue 47 - Vote NO!  This amendment would ban a Trash Tax.  We want to tax your trash. 

Issue 48 - Vote NO!  This amendment would ban our beloved streetcar.

Elected Official taking two taxpayer-funded health plans

Dear fellow tax hikers, candidate for Green Township Trustee Jeffry Smith has done it again!  This insolent citizen activist has discovered more information about another Green Township practice that is sure to upset this region's obnoxious fiscal conservatives.

Mr. Smith is reporting on his latest blog entry that Green Township Fiscal Officer Tom Straus is on two taxpayer-funded health plans at the same time!  We encourage everyone to click on that link and read the full story there.  The documents can be found at his website. 

By day, Mr. Straus works for the Ohio Attorney General's office.  There, he is on the State's health insurance plan.  Straus is also the Fiscal Officer for Green Township.  He is on their health insurance plan too!  One worker, two taxpayer-funded health plans. 

We at Republicans for Higher Taxes are always on the lookout for new and inventive ways to spend taxpayer money.  This one is a winner.  We applaud Tom Straus for showing the ingenuity to take two taxpayer-funded health plans at the same time.

We once again condemn Jeffry Smith for his citizen activism, as we did in September.  We do not like it when taxpayers ask questions about their government.  We especially despise it when they discover nepotism, mismanagement, and elected officials who take two taxpayer-funded health plans at the same time.  It is vitally important that Mr. Smith is defeated on Tuesday.  Green Township cannot afford to have a Trustee looking out for their tax dollars.

Tracy Winkler - The Jennifer Triantafilou Factor

Dear fellow tax hikers, we proudly endorse Green Township Trustee Tracy Winkler for Hamilton County Clerk of Courts.  We have previously endorsed Winkler for higher office and we stand behind her 100% as she applies to be selected by our Hamilton County Republican Party for this vacancy.  She is going to get this appointment.  One key reason is because of Winkler's key role in hiring Jennifer Triantafilou, who was the wife of GOP Chairman Alex Triantafilou, for a Green Township government position she was completely unqualified to hold. 

Citizen watchdog and candidate for Green Township Trustee Jeffry Smith has compiled extensive documents about this controversial hire at his website.  His website contains an excellent, thorough accounting of this process and we encourage all you tax hikers to read through it.  Among the findings:

- This position required a Bachelor's degree.  Jennifer Triantafilou's highest level of education was completing an Electrocardiography Certificate at Cincinnati State.

- The application deadline was November 9, 2009.  Triantafilou applied on November 20th at the earliest.

- Triantafilou was not selected by the Township Administrator as one of the final four candidates, all of whom were actually qualified for the position.  Yet, Winkler jumped into the process to insist that the unqualified, unrecommended Triantafilou get hired in spite of the presence of the highly qualified applicants. 

Tracy Winkler sold her integrity to get a favor from Alex Triantafilou.  Now it's payback time.

Tracy herself lacks the education, experience, and intelligence to be a solid Clerk of Courts.  But none of that matters.  Winkler hired Triantafilou's wife for a position she was not qualified to hold, and now Alex is going to select Tracy for a job she is unqualified to hold.  This is how it works and we think it's great.  And just think - your tax dollars are paying for all of this.

Oppose Jeffry Smith for Green Township Trustee

Dear fellow tax hikers, it is a matter of extreme importance that we stop citizen activist Jeffry Smith from getting elected Green Township Trustee.  Mr. Smith's advocacy for good government and against nepotism is unacceptable and has caused much discomfort for the elite ruling class of this fine township.  Mr. Smith's crimes against our allies in the tax-and-spend movement are severe and disqualify him from serving the public.

1)  Jeffry Smith is the peasant who uncovered the truth behind the hiring of Jennifer Triantafilou for a job she's completely unqualified to hold, and in fact did not apply for until nearly 2 weeks after the application deadline.  Mr. Smith compiled the public documents and posted them on his site to show her lack of qualifications and the political reasons behind the hire.  The Green Township Trustees bypassed many qualified candidates to hire the wife of Hamilton County Republican Party Chairman Alex Triantafilou in order to gain political favor down the road.  We at Republicans for Higher Taxes think there is nothing wrong with hiring well-connected political wives for jobs they aren't capable of performing.

2)  Smith discovered that the Nathanael Greene Lodge has been losing an average of $200,000 per year.  This lodge is co-run by Allison Detzel, who happens to be the daughter of Trustee Tracy Winkler.  Smith thinks something is wrong with this.  We don't have any problem with hiring an elected official's daughter to lose a ton of money for the Township.

3)  We are especially disappointed that Smith has criticized the Trustees for shutting down public comments at their Township meetings.  Why would any elected official care what regular citizens have to say about their government?  The Green Township Trustees sure don't care.  Smith should apologize for insisting that he and his fellow citizens have a right to be heard at their local government meetings.

Do you want a representative who lets you speak at government meetings?  Then don't vote for Smith.  Do you have a problem with Trustees hiring their children to lose taxpayer money?  Then don't vote for Smith, he'll hire someone who can do the job.  Do you support hiring the Party Chairman's wife for a job she's incapable of performing?  Then don't vote for Smith, he'll hire qualified personnel instead.  

Whatever you do, don't vote for Jeffry Smith.  There are too many relatives of political officials whose patronage jobs depend on it.
