Farewell, fine mustaches

Dear fellow tax hikers, we have been crying our eyes out all day knowing that two of our best tax hikers are hours away from having their public careers forcibly ended.  Tax Hikin' Rick Bryan and Jim Sumner will no longer be Blue Ash Councilmen as of midnight tonight.  Sumner was defeated in a landslide and Bryan lost to a dude named Pramod Jhaveri.

These are two of the finest mustaches you'll ever see.  They will be greatly missed.  This is a sad day, but at least we can suffer it together as one big tax-hiking community.  Let's think of the good times.

Tell us, what are some of your favorite Rick Bryan and Jim Sumner moments. Was it their excellent tax increases?  Their support for tax-and-spend candidates?  Their arrogance that grew larger each year?

Share your thoughts with the community.  And join us for..........The Final Countdown.

Any summary of these fine tax hikers' careers that doesn't include their support of the Cincinnati streetcar is shamefully incomplete. We couldn't have done it without you Ricky Baby!

While you slept we voted to raise the Blue Ash earnings tax again to fund a new $75 million Mustache Memorial Park in one last triumphant vote. Blue Ash needs a backup venue just in case Huey Lewis and Rick Springfield BOTH accept our offer.

When you jerks finally get over yourselves, you'll realize that I am going to be the rock star tax-hiker of the next generation!

Don't overlook me! Not only can I run up my own tab to the point of going a half-mill in hock and stiffing the very same small businesses that I claim to champion, but that bill for all my campaign promises is going to come due. More roads, more parks, bringing back summer camp, making sure our fire and EMS can respond in two minutes, more cops who will somehow prevent shootings before they happen, all that's gonna cost us some jack and my crusade to strip the administrator of his expense account is only going to go so far. So it's time for all of us, I mean all of you, to start paying the piper because I sure as heck will not. Gotta go! That's Holywood calling on the other line.

We are salivating over the pickups which await us in 2016 thanks to Alex's leadership. I thought we would hit a dry spell when our man Ashwin wasn't working from the inside anymore but we had a great year in 2015.

What will Santa Alex deliver to us in 2016? I think I'd like the Clerk of Courts office, for starters.

Oh yeah well we won and that trash-infested ghetto to our north voted for a big time fiscally irresponsible person.

Well, my daddy had his biggest victory ever, and it was against a Harlow woman, so I am sorry Rick and Jim lost, but they can blame themselves for relying on those idiots Downtown.

Two more Republicans seats we've lost under my reign as Chairman. Honestly, I don't care who sits on Blue Ash Council. As long as they don't cancel their Dinsmore contract I don't give a shit. I just want the money

I can't use my real name be cause I am retired from a very important position at the very highest levels of the great state of Ohio. Folks, it's a really sad day when two dedicated public servants who were such loyal foot soldiers and unsung heroes of the Republican Party are so unceremoniously dumped by those ungrateful voters. My advice would have been to fake a health issue and wait until the last minute to announce your decision not to stand for election. When the party does find someone to rub on such short notice, be sure that you don't do anything stupid like step down early to give your presumed successor some experience. No the best way to show your loyalty to the Republican Party is to hang on to your seat. Because it's yours. Also be sure to promise a ton of help to your party's new candidate and then totally disappear.

That's how I would do it and I am The Greatest Republican Who Ever Lived.

When you come from the right family and only let the right people marry into yours, and you pass legislative seats down as though they were peerages in the House of Lords, you know the day will never come when your family isn't on the public payroll at some point because that's how we do it in the USA.

I wonder if those two fine gentleman will help be in my quest to be the next Hamilton County Commissioner? I am sure I can find them a good patronage job after I win.

Republicans should get prepared to say good bye to more public officials who get rejected by the voters in 2016. It's inevitable.

In less than one month I will be an official Colerain trustee and they will no longer be able to kick me out of their secret meetings. And the Enquirer and the TV stations will have to give me, a conservative Republican elected official, all the time and I attention I truly deserve and am entitled to. If they won't cover my scoops, I will just call my good friend Anderson Cooper and give CNN the exclusive.

And... we lost a good candidate for recorder when we lost our commissioner.

And... it looks like I won't have a commission majority anymore.

And... we don't really have a deep bench in the suburbs anymore.

And... we can no longer guarantee our judges will win their races.

And... it looks like I am going to lose seats
for the 7th election cycle in a row.

But... everyone had an awesome time at our Holiday Party, right?

Seasons Greetings from the politically correct and terminally incompetent staff at Republican Headquarters.
