Key streetcar advocate accused of fraud
Dear fellow tax hikers, we have all been rattled by the news that streetcar leader and future Governor Candace Klein has been accused of fraud by the State of Ohio. Among other things, she and her company have been accused of: falsely reporting their financial information, misrepresenting their relationship with banks, failing to obtain legally required state and federal licenses, and failing to make needed disclosures to investors.
Ms. Klein has made her mark as a strong advocate for our beloved Cincinnati Streetcar. She is a former President of the urban hipster group CincyPAC and a former co-Chairman of Cincinnatians for Progress, two groups centered around streetcar love.
An ambitious one, Candace Klein held a press conference in 2002 to announce that she was running for Governor of Kentucky in 2027.
We know that Governor Klein will fight her way through these accusations. She certainly has a lot of experience with the judicial system, given her previous arrests in 2002, 2003, and 2007.
Just because she may have broken the law then doesn't mean she has now. And just because this streetcar supporter has been accused of issuing phony projections doesn't mean that other streetcar supporters have been issuing phony projections for the streetcar. Governor Candace Klein and the Cincinnati Streetcar are two peas in a pod - two of the best Cincinnati has to offer.

Is this mugshot from Candace's first, second, or third DUI? Given her love of fellow alcohol overindulger Chris Seelbach, nobody should be surprised.
Does this mean I should return the money that Candace donated to my campaign?
This is very racist, sexist and mean-spirited of this Republican organization to smear a great woman entrepreneur like this. Candace Klein is clearly another victim of the Republican War on Women. The Republican Party should be ashamed of itself for this gutter journalism.
Now we know why she called her business Bad Girl Ventures.
That awful woman-hater John Kasich is persecuting a successful businesswoman because, like all Republican men, he hates women. He wants us women to stay home and be barefoot and pregnant. The Republican Party is a bunch of Neanderthals who hate women, even if they have endorsed me six times for political office. I hate my life and it's all the fault of those evil woman-haters in the Republican Party.
Absolutely not PG. Ol Candie served as my campaign treasure for many a years. As she used to tell me, ain't no such thing as dirty money in politics! Lol lol! See you at happy hour!

Staff,
I am sick of that rag of a blog Republicans for Higher Taxes scooping us. How many puff pieces have we written about Candace Klein and her silly companies and none of you ever discovered her criminal record? The next time that worthless blog beats us to a story, some of you will be getting fired.
The Boss
We'll probably get laid off next year anyway so we will keep writing what we want and doing everything we can with the time we have left to help our friends and take down those evil nasty right-wing racist, sexist, homophobic Republicans that continue to infest this community.
She's a Democrat and a woman. No way we're going to do any reporting on her past. We're too busy trying to find someone connected to a Republican politician doing or saying something bigoted. When we find one, we will drop everything to report on it. Does anyone have any tips? Anyone? Bueller?
The Enquirer rushed to their pet project's defense when they realized the heat was getting a little too intense. No victims right Enquirer? Did you write that same kind of defense piece for Pete Beck? It's just like the good ole' days when Enquirer hack Laura Baverman would give a gushing blowjob in print to Candace Klein every two weeks. The Downtown/OTR/Media circle jerk continues unabated.
Uh, Alex, you never told me she was a Democrat when you set up that PAC for me to run. You know, that PAC that ended up giving to such great conservatives like Chris Seelback. But I thought she was kinda cool because she worshipped my Super Bowl ring just like everyone else. Gotta go! Time to sell some tequila before going out to remind the people of Green Township just how gosh-darn conservative I am.
As I recall the two Democrats Rocky Boiman supported were far lefty Jason Riveiro, and P.G. Sittenfeld who they gave more to than anyone. These decisions may have been what cost Rocky the State Rep appointment to fill the open Mecklenborg seat.
Oh yeah, Laure Quinlivan and Chris Seelbach should also ask advice whether they should return Governor Candace Klein's campaign contributions.
Seelback, Riverio, Sittenfeld, whatever, it's all a big blur to me. It was just another box to check off on my way from the NFL to political stardom. Whatever. Be a team player and donate lots of time and effort to my campaign.
We love it when Republicans fight each other and spend all their time blaming the corporate news media for their complete lack of popularity with the American people. Makes our job easier. Running a campaign against a Republican opponent is almost as good as being unopposed. That's doubly true in Hamilton County.
Boy, I hope Jennie never looks me up on the court's web site. There's a lot I wouldn't want her to see. Why, I was just in court this past week because the City of Cincinnati is suing me. She likes me and hates the Republicans running for office in Colerain so I probably have nothing to worry about.
enquirer today: let's not jump to any conclusions because Candace is doing something so forward-thinking that those slow-witted state regulators can't understand it. Nothing to see here, move along, only haters will keep talking about this.
A real party chairman would have someone in his office do some research online, find out which Democrats this fraudster has donated to, and then call a press conference to demand they all donate their tainted campaign contributions to a charity.
After all, that's what Democrats do when one of our contributors gets in trouble. My good friend Tim Burke does this all the time.
But I will make no such demands becuase my good friend Tim Burked might send a letter to the news media and call me sexist. My good friend Tim Burke already publicly called me a racist because I went out and dared question the competence of an African-American judge.
Gotta go. Time to wash my good friend Tim Burke's car. Again.
I agree with Democrats Everywhere.
Wow, Candace, really? Three DUIs???
This is disappointing. I had so much fun working with you on those PACs you like to start. I was willing to overlook your support for Democrats because the boss likes to remind us that Democrats are our friends too. I thought you had great fashion sense, certainly way better than most Republican women anyway. I really thought you and I had hit it off very well. We had so much in common being such successful women in a field totally dominated by men.
Candace, I know you like to get your drink on but stop acting like a west sider, OK.
We need to team up, Candace. I think we'd be a great match.
