Dear fellow tax hikers, some rich people will soon demand that Hamilton County raise the Sales or Property tax
to fix two buildings owned by the City of Cincinnati. Union Terminal
and Music Hall want over $250 million in repairs, and it's Hamilton
County's job to provide it.
Cincinnati cannot afford to fix their own buildings. You see, they are
spending all their capital dollars on The Streetcar. To ensure the
streetcar can be built and later expanded, Hamilton County
residents need to fix Cincinnati's buildings for them.
No
plan for these two projects has been presented. The costs have not
been calculated. Therefore, we proudly endorse both a Sales Tax hike
AND Property Tax hike, and we urge the Commissioners to approve them
without delay.
Cincinnati, the owner of the two
buildings, has offered $10 million. Our special insiders tell us that
these rich people will ask Hamilton County to provide around $200
million. We believe it is a perfectly fair deal for the building owner
to contribute $1 for every $20 that will be subsidized by county
taxpayers.
We have to understand that
Cincinnati chose a streetcar over their own buildings. That makes them
Hamilton County's responsibility now. Raise those taxes, no matter how
high.

This is a fantastic idea! May I be the first to endorse this amazing tax increase?
Under the circumstances I see no alternative but to raise taxes and you can bet my lackeys on the Tax Levy Review Committee will surely agree with me. With Crystal Faulkner's husband on the committee, I will know how every single one of them votes and will reward and punish accordingly.
It's a wonderful day when Greg Hartman follows the path of Bob Beddinghouse to ensure we make all of Hamilton County pay their fair share. And how stupid of taxpayers not to realize the last few levies for these same buildings included money for repairs but of course they spent it on themselves. It would be great if the Museum Center would bring back the exhibit of skinned alive Chinese as a real crowd pleaser, that's sure to generate supporters.
Hey, I had to get this ball rolling. Besides, others will forget all about this by the time I stand for election in '16
Let's also hope Alex takes care of me again with another deal so I can run unopposed.
I can't wait until there is a sales tax campaign because then there will be fund-raisers and I will get to dazzle everyone with my charm and beauty and there won't be any fat, smelly, disgusting, inbred west siders around me.
Go ahead, Rick. It's not like you have anything else to do this election cycle.
Had Cincinnati not squandered over $100 million of their own money on a streetcar, they could have made a huge down payment on these projects. They made their choice. Why should I have to pay higher taxes so Cincinnati can have a streetcar?
We've already thrown our support behind the streetcar when we went out of our way to re-negotiate with the city of Cincinnati so they could use the money from the airport to build their streetcar. What's another tax increase to us anyway? If you don't like it, that's just too bad. We're the Blue Ash City Council and we are so much smarter than you.
We can't wait to put this tax hike on the ballot. It will show us who the true, loyal Republicans are and who the crazed Tea Party nutjobs who need to be eliminated in every way, shape, or form from the Hamilton County Republican Party.
Like a good Republican Establishment stooge, I preach party unity but it doesn't really apply to my own stable of losing candidates.
