No bailout for Mahogany's

Dear fellow tax hikers, it is a sad day in Cincinnati now that Mahogany's At The Banks has served its last meal.  We agree with Councilman Wendell Young that the City hasn't done enough to support them - after all, nothing says "I hate you" like providing a $684,000 grant and $300,000 loan with taxpayer dollars.

Due to this mistreatment, we are appalled that the City of Cincinnati will not be granting Mahogany's a bailout.  Even worse, the City Manager says that Cincinnati is getting out of the restaurant business.  Taxpayers have provided them with only $984,000.  How can a restaurant be expected to survive with such a pittance of taxpayer assistance?

Mahogany's and their fabulous owner Liz Rogers has been a victim from the beginning.  Nothing that has happened is her fault.

We need you, our loyal readers, to tell us who is to blame for the failure of Mahogany's.  List everyone who is at fault for their collapse - as long as you know you can't blame Liz Rogers or her supporters on Council.

Cincinnati is one of the most racist cities in America! Melowese Richardson went to jail just because she voted numerous times for our leader Obama. Our God-fearing sister Tracie Hunter is on trial.

And now sister Rogers has to move her business after the city only gave her $984,000! This racism makes me sick!

As a self anointed bon vivant and urbanist I am deeply saddened by this news. Flabby and I have done our part to support this establishment and are calling for the city to step up to the plate with an additional offering of tax payer dollars. More importantly Flabby is furious that her Hog Wing record will no longer be recognized. Please give generously won't you.... The Most Distinguished of all Pricedale Residents. - The Hochscheids

This is in no way my fault. There are so many people to blame for our closing.

- the media
- Cincinnati City Council, for giving me only $984,000
- Cincinnati City workers
- all Republicans
- white Democrats
- Christopher Smitherman
- COAST
- the Catholic Church
- Her Majesty
- white people
- the weather

I place no blame on my poor management, the food, or the service.

Liz, you should be able to find plenty of empty space for a new restaurant to the north of us in ColerainTownship. From what we've seen in the news, people with racial grievances similar to yours abound in Colerain!

I blame the mean evil nasty crazies in COAST who have nothing better to do all day than to spread lies about other people.

Racism. The same racism that got our honor students expelled by the racist thugs at Colerain High.

Ugh! The city should forcibly remove Mahogany's from The Banks and relocate it to the West Side.

Is Liz Rogers as despised among restaurant owners as I am in my own party?

We blame the Rogers family's poor political connections. When you're born into the right family, there's no telling what you can do, one way or the other.

We've hired enough people that there will be no shortage of peons to blame if we lost the probate court judgeship.

Right now, Liz Rogers is getting drunk and calling all the people who used to support her and she is yelling at them, telling them she would still be in business if they had helped her more. Well, that's what every other woman whose failure I've witnessed has done. Or so other people have always told me.

Do we need to do anything? Or can we just keep on getting our drink on?

I used to eat there all the time. Mahogany's is a very well-run place, despite what you may have heard. It's kind if like the HamiltonCounty GOPin that way.

Just find a Republican for us to blame and we will be happy to do the rest.

The failure of this business is even more proof that the Republican Party needs to change its ways and be more open to minorities, gays, women and illegal immigrants. It's the only way we can be a majority party ever again. Our party needs to bring people like Liz Rogers into our big tent and push out all those crazy whackos who are against abortion and gun control.

The racist city government is picking on this restaurant because it is black-owned. The other restaurants are all losing even more money and the city has given them so much more cash than they have loaned us.

Blame the media and the Koch Brothers. Wealthy people have no place in politics. It's working like a charm for me.

It's clear that what we really need at The Banks is an openly gay-owned and operated restaurant. Whether or not the food tastes good, or the service is subpar is irrelevant. The only factor we should consider in choosing eating establishments is who the proprietor likes to have sex with.

Hamilton County is persecuting Liz Rogers, Tracie Hunter and Mae Richardson because they are trail-blazing courageous African-American women who are taking on the white power structure. They can't stand to see women of color succeed and so they are railroading each of this fine women.
