Alex Triantafilou - GOP Leader of the Week

Dear fellow tax hikers, before we hand out our award we would like to congratulate Alex and Jennifer Triantafilou on their joyful remarriage!  Remember when Alex T got Tracy Winkler to give Jennifer a $50,000/year taxpayer-funded job she was completely unqualified to hold?  Now Chairman Alex T gets to claim his share of the loot!

We move on to the main purpose of this post - to give our good friend Alex Triantafilou a special award.  It's campaign season everyone!  Republicans of all stripes are working hard to get their folks to the polls this November.  Last week, the Hamilton County Republican Party sent out no fewer than FOUR emails promoting their big door-to-door effort this past Saturday starting at 9:00 AM.  Surely the leader would be there to lead the troops!

Let's see which doors Mr. T was planning to knock on that morning:

Ok, that was written at 6:47 AM.  Alex could get the shopping done early and still be present at 9:00 AM sharp to lead the troops!  Not this week folks, the following tweet was written at 8:58 AM:

Head on down to Findlay Market?  After sending 4 emails during the prior week asking people to report for campaign duty?  For good measure, here's what came next:

That's our Chairman, shopping for food at Findlay Market while GOP activists spend the morning going door-to-door for Republicans.  For this display of hard work, we proudly name Chairman Alex Triantafilou our GOP Leader of the Week!  This is the cool, confident leadership we can get behind.

We'll see you GOP workers this Saturday morning for door-to-door.  Scratch that, we'll go shopping with Chairman T instead.

Hey fatass Alex, put the Findlay Market cake down and start leading by example!

This article helped put a smile on my young kids' faces today. Because after reading this, I just told them I'm spending Saturday mornings with them from now on. If Alex can play around on Saturday morning instead of campaign for Republicans, so can me and my family.

Alex T is A-OK in my book! He prefers shopping to doing political grunt work, just like me. That stuff is so beneath us, but I am glad those smelly west siders like to volunteer their time to do work like this. Just wish they'd shower first.

You know the Greeks invented outdoor markets.

Hey it's not like I've ever done anything to help the Republican Party either. Wonder if he would even notice if I got together with my old OFA friends on Saturday mornings.

Thanks to the awesome leadership of Scott Gehring more than 200 people opposed council's plan for allowing low-income west Siders into Madeira. The Camargo Crossing project is dead and Scott is the man of the hour. His Madeira City Council campaign will be a model of hard work and bipartisanship. Scott has succeeded yet again, while the conservatives at COAST continue to blog from their mommy's basements. But I will give them this, they're harder-working than Alex T and the other people collecting a paycheck from the Republican Party. Ha ha ha!

What are you people talking about? Alex has done a great job for us!

Alex T a d his band of do-nothing losers have already written off Colerain Township, just as most sane people have. The place is sliding downhill faster than a Mt. Rumple landslide.

Campaign Expert Matheny said...

Sitting on my can, working on my tan, and complaining about everyone else has always been my MO. Alex's style will guarantee victory in November.

Everything is coming up roses in Sycamore! That's why we like to donate to real conservatives like Jean Schmidt, Bill Seitz, and Rick Bryan. It's also why Alex likes to come hang out with us in our beautiful community and avoid Colerain like the plague.

Craig Hochscheid said...

Way to go Alex!!!! Me and my fat wife Tabitha would never dirty ourselves to campaign on a Saturday morning when there is SO MUCH FOOD waiting for us at Findlay Market!

Our dear leader Alex T has done a great job for us. We don't like going out campaigning for Republicans, either, so thanks to Alex for leading by example.

Now, if only he could find a way to give Colerain Township to Butler County.

I am so humbled to have received this award from such an outstanding Republican organization. You and I have been there through thick and thin. I'll never forget your fabulous and courageous support of the public safety in the Issue 27 campaign.

You've given prestigious awards to such good friends of mine as Virg Lovitt, Bill Seitz, Michelle Schneider, and Jon Husted, to name just several. It's an honor to be in their company.

I'd also like to thank the hard-working staff at Republican headquarters. Ashwin and Maggie, you do great behind-the-scenes work that nobody ever gets to see and that's a shame because you two are some of the hardest-working people in politics around here. Really. You are.

How could I ever forget the hardest-working person in the bunch, our great office manager Debbie Flammer. Debbie keeps up our calendar of events and she does a great job accurately recording every Republican event in Hamilton County... and conveniently leaving some dates "open" so that our preferred clubs and candidates get their preferred dates. It's truly amazing how she makes all of that work.

How can I forget some of our top donors like Tom Weidman? They say money is the mother's milk of politics and when Tom gives so much to great candidates like Jean Schmidt, Bill Seitz, and Rick Bryan, you can tell we know which side our bread is buttered on.

Did you all see the photos I took of Chabot's folks manning the phone banks at the west side Victory Center? Please don't make me tell you how long I stayed to rally the troops and lead by example making phone calls. You really wouldn't want to hear about that.

I am going to have to adjust my schedule now that the Reds are out on the west coast and playing games at 10 in the evening. That may make those early morning trips to Findlay Market a bit problematic.

Everyone else, have fun Ringing For Romney this weekend. You know where I'll be.

Today's Supreme Court ruling means there is nothing more for us to do. We can't even argue about how important it is to have a Republican President appoint justices to the Supreme Court anymore, since Chief Justice Roberts wrote this opinion.

See you at Findlay!

I fully endorse Alex T's decision to spend his Saturday mornings doing things outside the campaign world. Do you think I campaign on Saturday mornings? Heck no, it's pool time all the way.

I encourage everyone to wait until the final few days to start campaigning. That's what Sister Matheny, Brother Weidman, and I encouraged our Dearly Beloved Jean Schmidt to do, and didn't that work out great? See you alls this weekend....at the pool. Much love,

MS. Vicky Z

I'm heading to Findlay Market this Saturday morning with Alex! I want to eat all the food before Craig and Tabitha Hochscheid beat me to it.

Rick in Reading said...

Wow, I could have sworn I met Vicky last weekend campaigning for Romney, broken ankle and all. That's dedication, more than I can say for the so-called leader of the party. Those pain meds must be having an effect on Vicky if she forgot all that already.

MS Zwiss said...

Yeah that's right maybe I did campaign for Romney last weekend. The meds are killing my short-term memory. I do remember the pride I felt as me and family campaigned hard for Sister Jean Schmidt a few months ago. I just hope I can do more for Romney than I did for Sister Jean.

While the Republican leader hangs out at Findlay Market on Saturday mornings, and while GOP activists follow his lead and take the morning off, we will be ringing doorbells and acquainting voters with our slate of candidates this weekend, next weekend, and every weekend between now and November 6th.

We'll be knocking on your door soon while the Republicans take the summer and fall off.

Looks like in 2012, running for office as a Democrat will be the next best thing to running unopposed.

See you on Election Day, if not before.

Alex T said...

Oh man, these late night Reds games are killing me, how will I ever get to Findlay Market by 6:47 tomorrow morning?

We are living up to our end of the bargain with Alex T, where we do all the work and he handed our dear Mike Wilson a state legislative seat on a silver platter.

After a week hard at work celebrating Kels' new job and her birthday, I am thinking about maybe getting around to updating Brad's website and hitting a few festivals and 4th of July events. Wait, first I would need to order t-shirts for volunteers to wear. That sounds too much like work. Never mind. Alex just texted me. Time for beer!

Princess Margaret said...

I bet those West Siders were a real treat to smell when they were out "Ringing For Romney" in the 90-degree heat and humidity.

Great day for a mani-pedi though!

Joe "Mr. Know It All" Braun said...

this is exactly how we campaign in Clermont County and how I counsel all my political clients to campaign. Nobody wants to see some dumb slob in a Romney t-shirt knocking on their door on Saturday morning or afternoon. Nobody wants any of those stupid robocalls. Nobody wants to see those ugly god-awful yard signs in their neighbors yards.

What people want to see is good old fashioned attack mailers in their mailbox. People love receiving direct mail. They especially love direct mail designed by Tammy Adelhart who just happens to have been born with the same surname as mine.

We must say, as followers from across the pond of the U.S. political system, we are quite fond of this jolly good chap Mr. Triantafilou and his political campaigning style. As the son and the heir of nothing in particular, Mr. Triantafilou does not appear to be bothered with the urgency of so many others in the U.S. political system for the next four months. This is a man who will never, ever ask himself "How Soon Is Now?"

Tea Partyer said...

Too bad we can't take over the Republican party like our brethren over in Clermont County have done. I guess I'll just have to move there like everyone else is doing. Will the last person leaving please turn off the lights? The Democrats are going to replace the bulbs with CFL's anyway.

Tony R said...

Or you could move to Green Township which is 80 percent Republican and the other 20 percent were Republicans who used to live in Colerain Township.

Democratic Truth Squad said...

I guess Alex T won't be "Ringing For Romney" this week either as he will be pre-occupied desparately and pathetically trying to erase history and remove this slimy criminal from the Republican pantheon.

Don't blame me for that O'Brian guy. We distanced ourselves from that idiot years ago. He isn't even welcome at my weekend hangout, Findlay Market!

Jason Beacraft said...

Kevin O'brien is a registered Republican (soon to be a registered sex offender) and a convicted criminal with a lifetime ban from the securities industry. He has donated to numerous other Republican politicians. The man is GOP through and through. Campaign Expert Matheny and I are going to make Alex T own this dude.

We also hope Alex T comes out to the Springdale Farmers Market where we will be sure to give him an extra-special welcome. It's on Thursday afternoons so he can just as easily skip work as he can skip a "Ringing For Romney" event.

Tony R said...

The only problem with the Springdale Farmers Market is the you have to endure the stench coming from Colerain Township, that big pile of stinking garbage. Remember, Colerain Township isn't just home to people's trash. It's home to trashy people.

My good buddy Alex T, whose wife I employ, even as I also employ the daughter of the woman who also employs me, would never go anywhere near Colerain Township or any stupid farmers market in Springdale. The man is Green Township through and through.

CincyHochscheid said...

While Jason Stewart Beacraft complains about Republican sex scandals, he also posts photos of bikini-clad women. https://www.facebook.com/jsb05

If he ever posts pictures of my wife in a bikini, there will be hell to pay.

Until then, I look forward to seeing all those anti-urban Republican politicians hypocritically patronizing Findlay Market every Saturday.

Ray Stevens said...

There are so many twists and turns in the patronage hiring for day jobs and the nepotism for elected positions in Green Township that Tony Rosiello once fired himself... and hired his own grandpa.

How Alex has time to shop at 6:47 on a Saturday morning keeping all of that straight is beyond me.

After all I've done for the Republican Party, I should get this award, too.
