Streetcar Supporter Sean Donovan, Part 2

Dear fellow tax hikers, we continue our series on streetcar supporter Sean Donovan.  Deputy Donovan shows us that the streetcar is a great Republican idea.  His steadfast support for it has helped grow support for the streetcar from our side of the aisle, most recently inspiring the Blue Ash City Council to help Cincinnati fund their struggling streetcar line.

Recently Deputy Donovan took one of his Republicans friends on a trip through Over The Rhine.  This trip was covered on an OTR blog, which stated:

Sean Donovan is Chief Deputy of the Hamilton County Sheriff’s Office and the Republican candidate for Hamilton County Sheriff. He lives and works downtown, supports the Cincinnati Streetcar.....

We have repeatedly editorialized in favor of the streetcar project.  We can't think of any better way to spend $110 million than to plant a 3-mile loop that few will ride.  We are dedicated to helping Sean Donovan inform every voter in Hamilton County that he is the only candidate for Sheriff who supports the Cincinnati streetcar.  Choo choo!

I'm enormously proud of Sean Donovan and Blue Ash City Council for their support of the streetcar. I wish we could get a streetcar in Springdale but daddy says we may not have the votes to raise the necessary taxes. If I hadn't blown my election for Council we'd be one vote closer. Now all I can do is manage my empty office buildings and bemoan my complete lack of political clients.

I hope no one notices that I am hosting a fund raiser for my good friend Donovan.

I want to do everything I can to get this streetcar put into place and to elect my good friend Sean Donovan. I know I can count on Sean to keep those smelly, inbred West Siders away from me.

Chris, open bar right? Kels and I will be there for sure. Unless Alex gives me his Reds tickets that night.

I WANT TO THANK MY GOOD FRIEND SEAN DONOVAN FOR HIS SUPPORT OF THE TRANSPORTATION OVERHAUL SO NEEDED FOR OUR GREAT CITY. SEAN, YOU'RE A GREAT AMERICAN AND IT WILL BE A GREAT HONOR FOR YOU TO FOLLOW IN THE FOOTSTEPS OF ONE SIMON LEIS JUNIOR, ONE OF THE GREATEST PUBLIC SERVANTS IN THE HISTORY OF THE GREAT STATE OF OHIO.

NOW, WHILE I AM GLAD TO SEE CHRIS MONZEL SUPPORTING YOUR RE-ELECTION CAMPAIGN, I DO NOT TRUST THAT SLIMY LITTLE CONSERVATIVE PENCIL NECK ANY FURTHER THAN I CAN THROW HIM. MONZEL IS ALWAYS TALKING THAT CUT-CUT-CUT CRAZY TALK. HE TOOK THE LEAD ON THE COUNTY COMMISSIONERS THROWING OUR GREAT SHERIFF UNDER THE BUS WHEN THEY CUT HIS BUDGET. THAT WAS ONE OF THE MOST DISGRACEFUL EPISODES I'VE EVER WITNESSED IN HAMILTON COUNTY.

I WILL NEVER FORGIVE MYSELF FOR ENDORSING CHRIS MONZEL OVER THE MUCH MORE TALENTED AND MUCH LESS CONSERVATIVE LESLIE GHIZ. WE WERE ACTUALLY TRYING TO PAINT CHRIS AS A TOOL OF THE ESTABLISHMENT WHICH WAS SO UNPOPULAR BACK IN THE HORRENDOUS YEAR OF TWENTY AND TEN. UNFORTUNATELY, THAT PLOY BACKFIRED AND WE ARE NOW STUCK WITH THAT BOTHERSOME IDIOT MONZEL.

LESLIE GHIZ WOULD HAVE CONTINUED THE TAXING AND SPENDING WE SO DESPARATELY NEED TO REVIVE THE HAMILTON COUNTY ECONOMY. THAT'S WHY I VOTED FOR ALL OF BOB TAFT'S TAX INCREASES ALONG WITH MY GOOD FRIEND JEANNIE SCHMIDT.

Sean Donovan is one great Republican! He loves the streetcar even more than I do! I and the rest of my Blue Ash Council Republican comrades were proud to help Cincinnati fund their streetcar!!!

At least it's legal to be in a streetcar after dark, unlike, say, a park.

Are these comments supposed to be sarcastic? Why are people here using the words 'we' and 'us'? None of you is a resident of Cincinnati or Blue Ash. You can't participate in their governments by law.

As a City Council member, I wholeheartedly appreciate everything Rick Bryan and Blue Ash City Counil does for us. The streetcar is something that I as a City Council member support, being a City Council member.

Greedy Bastard, this is our site not yours, and here we do not impose residency tests to comment on our stories. Also, our readership in Cincinnati and Blue Ash has always been good.

This is the most unfunny site I've ever read.

It's like you're just saying exactly the opposite of whatever you think, and somehow that constitutes satire.

Just write serious articles, guys. This is embarrassing.

(NOTE: this isn't about the content of your beliefs. It's fine to oppose spending/taxation. But this is the most awkward, unfunny way of expressing an opinion that I've seen.)

Thank you for being one of our readers, anonymous. What can we say, some of our posts are funnier than others, some of our posts are more informative than others, some of our posts are pure clown material, and we guess a few end up as pure duds. We don't try to write all of our posts to be the same.

If you're looking for a good laugh, we hear this post of ours generated more laughs around this town than we could have ever imagined:

We think it's funny that people are actually buying the story that Tim Burke and I did not strike a deal to give our two commissioners a free pass.

I agree with the person or persons who posted at 8:31 PM and 9:46 PM. In order for satire to be funny, it has to be believable. For instance, there is no way anyone is going to belive that "Campaign Expert Matheny" ever could use the word "bemoan" properly.

I know Craig Hochscheid reads this site daily. Poor Craig, stuck married to a fat disgusting wife so he passes the time obsessing over men that he can't have.

I don't remember when Republicans for Higher Taxes claimed that all of their posts were meant to be funny. This site has variety.

The galling hypocrisy of people who say they are fiscal conservatives and then waste money on other people's pet projects is no laughing matter.

Most of the comments are left by smelly, inbred, sweaty, ugly, fat disgusting west side losers who only wish they were as politically talented and accomplished as me. They also wish they had my fashion sense and fashion budget?

Brad Wemstrip's Campaign Mangler said...

Most of these comments are left by unemployed or underemployed people with no family life or love life to speak of. Most people with important jobs, such as managing a top-flight Congressional campaign, are far too busy to write on this site.

We have much more important things to do like sending out press releases, updating websites, raising money, and getting people together for parades.
