Winter Solstice Cheer

Dear fellow tax hikers, tonight we will begin our celebration of the Winter Solstice.  So that we may celebrate this joyous time together, we ask all you tax hikers to tell us your favorite Winter song!

I like all of the Winter Solstice songs, as long as they're translated into Greek.

People Look East is my favorite. Not hard to figure out why, is it?

We will be singing "What Child Is This?" when that young Bill Blessing arrives in Columbus next year.

"Walking in a Winter Wonderland" makes me think about what might have been, if Alex and I had been walking through a meadow and built a snowman instead of me sitting on his lap at a Bengals game

Any song from the "Christmas in the Park" CD.

It's a toss up between "Do you hear what I hear" and "While shepards watch their flocks".

It's too bad I am the most bitter formerly elected official in the history of the Tri-State. Don't you understand for the past NINE YEARS I haven't had any time to enjoy Christmas music???? Or anything else for that matter??? No, I've got Colerain Township's financial records to pore over morning, noon, and night, hoping to find something, anything to screech about at the next Colerain Township Trustee meeting, and the one after that, and the one after that. You want me to stop, you better be ready to pry these public records out... of... my... cold... dead... hands.

I LIKE THEM ALL AS LONG AS I HAVE A GLASS OF SCOTCH IN ONE HAND AND A CIGAR IN THE OTHER.

I &^%W don't like any of these &*^@ Winter Solstice &*(^!_!# songs. Alex can go &*$@ himself and the entire GOP can go to *&@@. No song or poem has ever before been composed which truly captures the essence of this season, the season my campaign expertise begins to be appreciated by one and all.

On a related note, Springdale had to cancel its Christmas because we couldn't find three wise men and a virgin. I offered Tom Weidman, Virgil Lovitt, and Jim Raussen, plus Jean Schmidt, but there weren't any takers. My daddy, of course, was already cast to play the role of God, of course.

We Three Kings always reminds us of our royal oversight of Blue Ash and our ability to demand tax hikes of the peasantry, I mean, our neighbors.

Any song that will help me get my totally non-political self elected to Madeira City Council.

I used to like "On Jordan's Bank" until I learned it had nothing to do with a place I could borrow money from for my latest business or arts endeavor that's sure to go belly-up.

Jean Schmidt said...

I took all the Christmas songs, and everything else that wasn't nailed down, plus a few things which were, out of the Second Congressional District office. No way in heck that COASTer Brad Wenstrup is getting those back from me!!!

Jean baby, turn that frown upside down. Supporting your losing campaign was right up there as a highlight of my life, along with supporting Tom Weidman's losing campaign, Virgil Lovitt's losing campaign, and one or two other campaigns I've probably forgotten about.

Perhaps I should give up on politics and on office leasing, two things at which I've failed miserably, and go into festive music consulting for all occasions. Because, you know, I'm so cheerful. Big party at my house this New Years, just don't bring any evil Republican men with you.

We apologize for our 2-day delay in approving one of these comments.

It was the NRA's fault.

We're both old enough to remember when many of these songs were written in the original Latin.

But we like to be hip with the times. Want to hear us sing a duet of "Baby It's Cold Outside?"
