Pam Thomas, streetcar's newest friend

Dear fellow tax hikers, new Councilwoman Pamula Thomas has declared she will announce her position on the Cincinnati Streetcar by May 13th, as reported by Cincinnati Enquirer editor Carl Weiser.

We can exclusively announce the results of her decision:  Pamula Thomas supports the streetcar 100%!  Even better, Pam supports the streetcar no matter how much it costs and will vote to spend any and all funds necessary to make this project happen.

To come to any other conclusion would require Pamula to think for herself, something she has been explicitly ordered to never do.  Pamula is expected to blindly obey the commands of Mark Mallory, Roxanne Qualls, and Tim Burke.

Mrs. Thomas is a realist.  She knows she lacks the intellect to make these important decisions on her own.  She has been given her orders from Mallory/Qualls/Burke and knows she must obey.  Evidence of this will reveal itself when Councilwoman Thomas announces her support by next week for our beloved Cincinnati Streetcar.

Hey, speaking of political leaders taking polls to make their decisions, whatever happened to that poll Alicia Reese sent out asking people what she should run for next? I liked her "Lt. Gov" option, because you don't run for Light Gov (as it's called for a reason) in this state, someone running for Governor has to ask you to be their running mate. What I hope Alicia and Pamula run for is the same thing: the border.

I think you've got it mostly right. Pam Thomas wasn't given the seat for her brains, she was given the seat for her ability to shout yessir/yes'm to the right people. Pam has been ordered to support the streetcar, therefore she will.

Pam will do exactly as she's told by me and Massa Burke. Just like Cecil before her, she owes her seat to the Democratic Party Graft and Patronage Machine. We'll do all of the thinking, she'll do the all of the hard work. Some things never change.

Pamula would not dare oppose the Democratic establishment or streetcar establishment. Look at me for inspiration!

I'm a "devout Catholic" yet I support abortion and gay marriage, and it even got me fired. And after all that I still didn't get the Democratic Party's endorsement. That's ok, I'd rather be unemployed and unendorsed than to go against the Democratic/streetcar establishment.

Sir, I say, I say, women of color need to know their place in politics. I don't know much about dat trolley y'all, but I know who needs to be callin the shots. Call me Mista Burke and we'll chat plantation politics over a few mint juleps.

Look at those Democrats choosing candidates based on their family connections. And then those candidates have no idea how to do their jobs. What a travesty.

You mean to tell me there wasn't one WHITE woman who happened to be married to someone important that the Democratic Party couldn't have given this job to? What a joke. Speaking of jokes, remember when I called Cecil Thomas "Uncle Cecil" and the Cincinnatians for Progress streetcar folks still embraced me? It's ok to be racist as long as you're for the streetcar.

Seriously though, why couldn't the party just endorse 11 instead of only 10?

How dare Alex Triantafilou play the race card among his right-wing base in the Republican Party and question the qualifications of Pamula Thomas and Tracie Hunter. Both women are very qualified to do the jobs they are doing, which is to do exactly what we tell them do. Heck, I know some third graders who would be qualified to hold elected offices for me, but they're too young to vote and there's that whole child-labor thing and whatnot.

Seriously, this lady has to take a poll to figure out where she stands on an issue? What, is she drunk or something?

State Rep for Sale Stautberg said...

She has to support the streetcar. No way she would ever take the side of the Krazy KOAST Kooks.

As the leader of the loyal opposition, you'd think I'd be trying real hard to come up with a slate of candidates capable of taking a majority on Cincinnati City Council, capitalizing on the failed leadership the mayor and council have shown, combined with the trolly folly and the parking meter cash grab.

But no, I am still cowering from being called a bigot by the chairman of the Democratic Party, my good friend, as I like to call him. So I am just going to field 4 candidates, not a majority, with a few re-treads a criminal and a total nobody.

Bye now. Gotta tweet something that sounds like I am doing something useful.

Of course, Councilmember Pamela Thomas, distinguished education professional and highly qualified extraordinarily gifted and talented woman, is going to do what is right for the future of this great city and support public transportation including the streetcar. Of this, we have no doubt.

Meanwhile, old wealthy racist bigoted homophobic Republicans are yammering on somewhere saying mean-spirited and bigoted things about the President who single-handedly turned around the economy after the Republicans nearly destroyed it with their greed and hatred of others. So we are going to completely ignore everything that they say or do. Unless they make a bad joke somewhere, then we will give it round-the-clock coverage.
