It's time for higher Hamilton County taxes

Dear fellow tax hikers, we applaud The Cincinnati Enquirer for their recent editorial gently urging the Hamilton County Commissioners to raise taxes for the common good.  We won't be gentle - we demand that the Commissioners pass at least one major tax increase on Hamilton County citizens!

County revenues are declining.  They've already been cut 25% from their peak, and they may have to trim another 10% for 2013.  That's terrible.  We can't have the government spend less, we need the citizens to spend less instead.

Our beloved Sheriff Simon Leis is warning that further cuts to the Sheriff's Department will be catastrophic.  It's the first time in weeks he's uttered that threat!  This time he really means it.

Higher taxes are also needed to bail out the massive deficits in the stadium fund.  We know, we all were told that the first stadium tax would lead to an economic boom, and the tax would be retired in 20 years.  Expectations fell a little short.  But we insist that another Stadium Tax, to bail out the first Stadium Tax, will take care of everything.....we hope.

Sadly our Commissioners have done a terrible job on taxation in recent years.  They have said no to higher taxes for the General Fund, they said no to an Arts Sales Tax, they've refused a new Jail Tax, they said no to having Hamilton County pay for Cincinnati's Union Terminal repairs, and Portune and Monzel sold some land around Drake Hospital to pay for last year's stadium fund deficit.  We don't have a single reliable Commissioner to lean on, so we will have to work hard to give ourselves the tax increases we deserve.

I stand ready to assist with this great tax-hiking effort. I can't wait to do for the levy campaign what I did for Jim Raussen, Tom Weidman, Virg Lovitt, Jean Schmidt, and my own Springdale City Council campaign.

Tax hikes are awesome. So is the half-empty office complex I manage.

Oh, man, when you're down in Tampa working as hard as I do, a little bit of news from back home can be soooooo refreshing. Guys, I am getting sooo excited about a new tax hike. I hope there will be a levy campaign so I can buy cocktail dresses and matching shoes every time there is a fund-raiser. Now that I am a hard-working professional political fund-raiser, there are just so many demands on my time that I hope I will have time to donate some of my expertise for this awesomely important fund-raising campaign.

One thing I've quickly learned as a political fund-raising expert is to never invite any of those smelly, fat, ugly, inbred, sweaty west siders to any shindigs. Instant buzzkill.

I have always thought so but now that Alex made a deal for me to run unopposed I will be more forthright. After all, I am on record already supporting higher sales taxes for those wonderful stadia.

I wish I could be down in Tampa with Alex but he's always just a text message away as I work so dilligently to ensure victory for Brad Wenstrup. Who knew working in a district with a 64% Republican index could be so back-breaking?

But fear not, while Alex is down in Tampa, I will be reporting back to him on all the mean horrible nasty things my supposed allies at COAST are saying about our glorious taxes in Hamilton County. I guess those silly COASTers have forgotten that I was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the Super-Sized Jail Tax.

Imagine that - Senile Simon Leis crying wolf again. He's been whining for higher taxes and threatening "blood in the streets" forever now. Si - GO AWAY! Nobody believes your bullcrap any more.

FOR YEARS I HAVE ALWAYS SAID THAT IF SIMON LEIS OUR SHERIFF WANTS A TAX THEN I WILL SUPPORT IT. I SUPPORTED BOB TAFT'S TAX HIKES AND WILL SUPPORT BROTHER HARTMANN'S CALL FOR MORE TAXES AS WELL. YOU'RE A GREAT AMERICAN GREG. I WILL ALWAYS SUPPORT THE TAXES MY GOOD FRIENDS SUPPORT. THE MISGUIDED PEOPLE AT COAST SIMPLY DO NOT UNDERSTAND HOW THE WORLD WORKS. AND THERE ARE SOME TRULY IDIOTIC PEOPLE IN COLERAIN TOWNSHIP TOO WHO ARE TOTALLY CLUELESS ABOUT SUCH MATTERS. FOR THE LIFE OF ME I CANNOT UNDERSTAND WHY THE ROMNEY FOLK WANTED TO OPEN A "VICTORY CENTER" IN THAT GODFORSAKEN PLACE.

Campaign Expert Matheny must have attracted a lot of new clients if her complex's vacancy rate is down to 50%.

"It's High Time for Higher Taxes" what a great slogan, and it almost sounds Clint Eastwood-y.

Really, Romney folk? 8:30 in the morning? On a Saturday? Of a holiday weekend? Ugh! As if! Maybe all those smelly inbred west siders will be too hung over to show up tomorrow, especially the ones in Colerain Township who have so far to travel. Please, keep the Rumpke stench out of the Museum Center! The only upside is that I love helping to show off the Museum Center at Union Terminal as they gear up for a levy campaign in the next few years!

Dang, the boss is gonna expect me to be there too. This campaign is turning into a heck of a lot more work than the Clerk Of Court's office ever was. What's this weekend garbage all about anyway? I'm kinda feeling as though Alex T mislead me when he set me up with this cushy gig.

It will all be worth it when in about 124 days from today I start pulling in about $100,000 per year as Congressman Wenstrup's trusty aide.

I will gladly support a tax hike for our parks. Believe me, I know all about our parks, especially at night.

I should have been introducing Governor Romney at this big rally today. I should be leading the charge for my good friend Simon Leis to raise taxes. I should be helping my good friends Virgil and Rick get state approval to raise taxes as much as they want, and my personal favorite, keeping the Death Tax as-is.

But no.... Some Wyoming loser had to jump in at the last minute and de-rail my candidacy for state office. I haven't forgotten that act of unitigated treachery and I doubt I ever will.

This blog cracks me up. While you guys sit home on the weekends making fun of your fellow Republicans, we are out organizing for the President's re-election. We noticed that your three so-called Victory Centers were as empty as a Campaign Expert Matheny office park. So much for thatost-convention bounce! Our campaign centers were packed all day today. You guys have no idea how thoroughly the voters are rejecting your hate-filled racist campaign strategery this November.

We had 30,000 people turn out for a Labor Day rally today. Republicans took pictures of empty chairs.

If Tom W wants to blame a woman for his defeat, he should assign the blame squarely on his laughably inept campaign manager. She did for Weidman what she did for her own campaign for Springdale Council, which ended in embarrassing defeat in spite of her daddy being Mayor for life.
