Winkler Gangnam Style - nepotism and double-dipping

Dear fellow tax hikers, if there's one thing you've learned from our site it's that it pays to be a friend or relative of either Tracy Winkler or Alex Triantafilou.  Need a high-paying taxpayer funded job that you're completely unqualified to hold?  No problemo, just be sure you are one of the Friends of Alex and Tracy (FAT).

Now we can add two more names to this lucky club!  Please give your finest Republican for Higher Taxes welcome to our new friends Vince and Deb Wallace.

Recently, Clerk of Courts Tracy Winkler and her husband, His Honor Judge Ralph "Ted" Winkler went on vacation with their close friends Mr. and Mrs. Wallace.  Upon return their return, Mr. and Mrs. Wallace cashed in big-time on the privileges of their FAT club membership.

Tracy hired Vince Wallace to the specially-created Chief Deputy of Operations where he'll pull down $68,585/year for his efforts.  Not to be outdone, His Honor hired Deb Wallace to be his Courthouse Reporter.  Even better, this hiring is a double-dipping deal.  Mrs. Wallace had recently retired to start collecting her pension, and with the cooperation of His Honor Judge Winkler she will collect a salary too.  She is now estimated to make over $98,000/year to be a glorified secretary.

Being a FAT has its rewards.

This type of behavior is nothing new to the sexy Gangnam Style Winklers.  As everyone recalls, it was then-Green Township Trustee Tracy Winkler who hired Jennifer Triantafilou for a taxpayer-funded job that she was completely unqualified.  This was done to curry favor with beloved Chairman Alex Triantafilou, and she wasted no time cashing in.  Tracy was rewarded for this loyalty by being appointed Clerk of Courts.

Moved like these are the #1 reason we proudly endorsed Tracy Winkler for higher office.  Not everyone can be a FAT, and membership has its benefits.  It's not about serving the public, it's about serving your friends - with taxpayer money.

Isn't this the kind of wasteful government spending and crony capitalism the Tea Party was supposed to protest? Oh, wait, white Republicans are doing this, so never mind.

The Winklers and Wallaces are some of my favorite west siders of all time. Most of the other ones smell to high heaven. That's why I am so glad to be working in political fund-raising now. West siders are too broke and illiterate to go to the kinds of events I get to go to now.

If I had ever actually won an election through my expert campaign consultin' service, I might have been able to get a sweet gig like this, but I didn't so I will bitterly complain about others who have been more successful than I.

Boy does this kind of government waste make me angry! I can't wait to get in front of a TV camera and start screeching about this illegal and unethical waste of taxpayer money and then spend years and years of my life haranguing about this to all of my other equally bitterly outraged and offended friends. I'll make so many public records request, I'll need a different e-mail account just to keep track of them. This kind of corruption has to stop in Colerain Township.

What? This is Hamilton County? Oh, I work for the county so, never mind. And the people involved live in Green Township? Oh, that's cool. Never mind.

Maybe I can send my boy friend Tommy to the next Republican club meeting so he can report back to me, and my man friend David can go to the Democrats' meetings and I can go to the Tea Party meetings and pretend someone gives a crap about all the work I've put into this some day.

Where can we send a check to the Winkler's campaigns so we can endorse this kind of behavior that our friends such as Bill Seitz, Rick Bryan, Virgil Lovitt and Jean Schmidt would surely approve?

Where do we sign up for some more of this? We're not done enriching ourselves at the taxpayers expense by collecting 2 salaries just yet.

You know, the Greeks invented double-dipping.

Enjoy it while it lasts. The Republican party in Hamilton County is slowing fading away. So much so that all their cronyism and corruption is becoming plain as day.

I've been known to "double dip" into the old whiskey bucket from time to time, hence the recent DUI. I just hope my bosses at the Cincinnati Business Courier don't find out.

Cincinnati Enquirer said...

Republican former state legislator Bob Mecklenborg (R-Cincinnati) a family values Republican said today that, as a Republican, he hopes all his other Republican friends don't get caught double-dipping the way this Republican got caught double-dipping as a Republican legislator in Indiana. The Republican former legislator added that he still considers himself a close Republican friend of the Republican Winklers and the Republican Wallaces.

Taking care of your friends and family, that's what it's all about in public service. I couldn't agree more and for once I don't even have to check with my dad to see if he agrees with this credo. Keep up the great work, guys.

I wonder if double dippers could be taxed twice?

Unlike the Winklers, we Deters believe in personal responsibility. Take our brother Buzz. Please. On November 21st, Daniel T. Deters was the recipient of his third certificate of judgment filed against him in 2012 by the Great State of Ohio, after receiving such judgments on March 22nd and April 26th. It’s almost like other people want to give him special treatment because of his family connections or something. We just wish it would stop.

The Winkler and Wallace families are the backbone of Green Township, Ohio. They are paragons of virtue and integrity combined with competent conservative government. Other communities should look to us as an example, especially our garbage-infested and fiscally incompetent friends in Colerain!!!

Glad to see no one in the GOP learned anything from last months electoral drubbing. Keep taking pot shots at each other on blogs, it worked so well for us in 2012. You guys argue. We'll keep governing, PS, thanks for the sheriffs office, Alex!

I love to see Republican infighting too. It reminds me of my days as a John Kerry campaign operative in New York City.

As a Councilmember in Cincinnati, the city I represent as a City Councilmember, I'd like to learn more about this "double-dipping."

It sounds like something that could benefit Over The Rhine, a neighborhood in Cincinnati, the city I represent as a City Councilmember. How about a double-dipping nightspot in Cincinnati, the city I represent as a City Councilmember?

Does it have anything to do with streetcars for Cincinnati, the city I represent as a City Councilmember?

As you know, I am always on the lookout for more activities for urban hipsters like me, a Councilmember in Cincinnati, the city I represent as a City Councilmember.

We need to bring a lot more entertainment to Cincinnati, the city I represent as a City Councilmember, for sure.

I guess I will have to add "petulant" to the list of characteristics I find so disgusting about west siders, in addition to their being smelly, sweaty, fat, disgusting, inbred, hideous, and bigoted. Of course, this never includes my Green Township besties, or John Eby, or my Colerain frenlies

Citizens for Tom Weidman said...

Double-dippers, with friends who are double-talkers. Just think, if these double-dippers run for office, I can send them TWO campaign contributions, while keeping a straight face about being such a staunch conservative and friend of the taxpayer.

I am very "Madeira Proud" of the Wallace's ability to double-dip and work the system. It's too bad I resigned from council to focus on a state representative race I later had to abandon and that my wife worked for someone who decided to run for a higher office and lost, otherwise we could become double-dippers too in a few decades. In the meantime, my totally non-political self and my totally non-political wife are doing everything we can to start a successful political movement here in Madeira to get me elected to something, somewhere, someday. We might have to take a step back after losing by nearly 3-1. Of course the people who beat us at the ballot box are nothing but a bunch of politicians, developers and their family members.
