Stan Chesley ordered to pay $42 million

Dear fellow tax hikers, Democratic super-donor Stan Chesley has been ordered to pay $42 million as a result of his (alleged) misconduct during the infamous fen-phen case.

"Chesley is one of several attorneys accused of violating ethics rules and skimming cash from clients after attorneys received the bulk of the $200 million fen-phen settlement in 2001, despite contracts with clients stating they were entitled to less than one-third of the money."

Chesley was later disbarred.

He made a name for himself as a super-donor to Democratic campaigns, even purchasing his wife a federal judgeship.  Sometimes Chesley even donated to Republicans - the good ones like Jean Schmidt

Chesley may be disbarred, but he continues to be a major player due to his checkbook.  Though now, it's about $42 million lighter.

I have tremendous admiration for Stan Chesley. It is a great honor to receive a campaign contribution from such a wonderful human being.

I cherish the thousands I have received from Mr. Chesley as well. In fact, I've taken hundreds of thousands if dollars from attorneys seeking to do business with the State of Ohio while I have criticized my opponent for doing the exact same thing. Thankfully, the newspapers in this state don't ever question that and just print whatever I want them to. It's like they are afraid to lose some advertising account or something.

David and Micah,

As always, your secrets are safe with us. Feel free to contact us the next time you concoct some evil thing to accuse Republicans of. We stand ready to serve you. Remember, we're all in this together.

Does any other washed-up, has-been retread Republican elected official want to blast the Republican commissioners for their decision to exclude Music Hall from the Union Terminal levy? I've got plenty of room on my editorial page. It's not like I plan to air any substantive news there.

Stan, if you've got any money left over, we need to talk.

Stan always threw the swankiest parties, Those were exactly the kinds of parties I totally shine at, being around the kinds of people I was raised to be around back in St. Louis. Speaking of which, did you all notice that those thug rioters in Ferguson are northwest of downtown.

Is there a landfill in Ferguson? Seems like Ferguson is St Louis' version of Colerain Township.

Damn it. The Enquirer blew my cover about my ghost-hunting hobby. That was my secret plan to get the cemetery vote.
