Leslie Ghiz defeated

Dear fellow tax hikers, this was not the night we expected.  While some things went well tonight, the news that our great friend Leslie Ghiz was defeated for re-election to Cincinnati City Council has left us in an inconsolable state.  Right now we are in downtown Cincinnati crying our eyes out trying to comfort each other after this shocking defeat - possibly our worst loss since the last time Ghiz lost an election.

This is completely unfair!  Leslie Ghiz was entitled to run a non-existent, mail-it-in campaign and still get re-elected.  We were proud to endorse Ghiz for all she did to support David Pepper and grow the size of government.

We tax hikers must find a way to go on.  We want you to remember all the great things about our Ghizzy.  That should take a few seconds.

Please post your favorite memories of Leslie Ghiz in the comments section.  Through sharing, we can begin to heal after this tragic loss.

I can never forget when Leslie gave me a high-profile endorsement to help me defeat Republican Phil Heimlich and give control of our county over to the Democrats. I will always be in debt to my good friend Leslie.

DAMN! it's good thing I wasn't running for City Council this wear or I would have gotten my clock cleaned too!

Isn't it funny that in a terrible Republican year in the City of Cincinnati, the only two COAST-endorsed candidates won?

Congratulations Charlie Winburn and Christopher Smitherman! Bye bye Ghizzy!

That Ghiz for Judge idea isn't looking too swell right now!

Leslie was just on Cunnningham blaming her loss on "lazy Republican voters". Not her lazy campaign mind you, it's our fault. Then to add fuel to the fire she refused to say whether or not radical homosexual leftist Chris Seelbach would be a good Councilman. Hello??????? Far left-wing, pro-tax, pro-streetcar candidate and you think he might make a good Councilperson? Good bye and good riddance Leslie! For God's sake GOP, DO NOT run this woman for something else!

Should I be happy or sad with yesterday's election results?

In my glory days as Attorney General, I proudly stood with Leslie Ghiz to endorse a huge Sales Tax increase for all Hamilton County residents. One of my proudest missions.

Ghiz should blame herself for running a lazy campaign.

Who ran Ghizzy's campaign anyways? They're overpaid unless they worked for free.

I fondly remember the days when Leslie and I worked together to approve bringing the streetcar to Cincinnati. She strayed a little once she started running countywide and wanted to better appeal to those stupid suburbanites, but before then she cast key votes for my streetcar.

I love Ghizzy. I'm mad as hell at those damn voters.

Hey, girl, remember when we used to go out and get some drinks after one of those fund-raisers or cocktail parties we always went to beforehand? Remember all the fat chicks we used to make fun of? Remember all those hard-core conservatives we used to mock? Remember all those smelly west siders we used to complain about? And, you-know-who, our favorite, who was All Of The Above??? Yeah, girl, good times!
