We completely, wholeheartedly endorse Matt Borges to run your party. This is going to be a great day for Ohio Democrats.

When, not if, the Republican ticket does a total face-plant in 2014, you can rest assured that Team Borges will have the answer: let's get rid of all the conservatives and Tea Partiers in the GOP. That "big tent" is always a lot smaller than they'd like you to believe. Team Borges isn't about winning elections in Ohio anymore. It's about holding positions of power to benefit themselves and their friends. If heading up the Masons, the Jaycees, the Methodist Church, or Easter Seals were more lucrative than leading the Republican Party, you'd see Borges and his greedy cronies trying to take over that group instead.

What a great day it is today when Matt Borges becomes chairman of the Ohio Republican Party.

Matt learned how to succeed in politics the old-fashioned way: through butt-kissing, arm-twisting, influence-peddling, and so much other hard work. A man after my own heart. Well, more like a man after my old man's heart.

It's too bad he couldn't inherit his seat but just think of the legacy he can bequeath to his daughter.

I am so proud to be an American today!

Since I endorsed Borges just like I endorsed gay marriage, all of his tax liens are my favorites!

"Today was April 15th, Tax Day. Which means I paid my taxes, and Matt Borges didn't."

I vote for the 2004 tax lien since that occurred the same year as his criminal conviction for abusing his high-ranking public office while working as Chief-of-Staff for Treasurer Joe Deters.

Why not just pay your taxes? I paid $37.00 in taxes to Cincinnati last year and would have gladly paid more.

I wonder if the money used to pay his liens came from Jobs Ohio ?

It's impressive how this young family man came up with $400,000 on such short notice. He must be an amazing fund-raiser.

Thank you, Ohio Republican State Central Committee! Your 48-7 vote this afternoon to install Matt Borges as the Chairman and face of the Ohio Republican Party is a blessing for us all. Oh, wait, we don't want to talk religion, especially Christian religion anymore. It might upset the atheists, Muslims, statists and Jews who fund our party.

Anyhoo, thanks for giving us a path to victory in 2014. Matt Borges' criminal conviction and tax liens will be brought up every time you all so much as issue a press release.

Also, we see this pick has totally irked your most loyal base of voters. It's not our fault the Republican Party of past statesmen such as Jim Rhodes and Paul Gollmor has chosen to align itself with a bunch of ignorant, bigoted, racist, sexist, antisemitic, homophobic, hateful nutjobs, but you did and now you're stuck with them. Except they all hate you now, too.

You've given us a great path to victory in 2014. However, the best part may be that our own totally incompetent and anger-challenged fearless leader, the guy who brought us Marc Dann and totally bolloxed the Lee Fisher-Jen Brunner primary that cost us those two seats, will come off looking like a strategic genius when your ethically challenged chairman and your reality-challenged volunteer base clash mightily in a vain attempt to re-elect a buffoon who has alienated everyone in both parties.

We win and we send Redfern to DC.

Talk about win-win.

Thank you, Republicans.

C'mon Eddy, you know better than anyone that the Ohio GOP didn't even have the stones to mention the corruption scandal when you were running for county executive in 2010. They didn't bring it up in 2008 or 2012 either. They let a couple of Cuyahoga County officials run unopposed even as they ran under suspicion. There is no way a single Republican would ever use the scandal which sent 70 members of your party to jail against you in a political campaign. Your buddies at the Cleveland Plain Dealer might say something mean about them or something, and you know as well as I do that polite society, such as it is in Cleveland, would turn their back on anyone who so much as uttered an "I told you so" at any point relating to this scandal since 2008. The corruption continues unabated in 2013, with a new generation of politicos in your party just as willing as the sleazeballs before them to cart off as much personal profit from their public positions as can be imagines. They'll either get rich or get indicted. One thing they will never be is defeated, because neither the news media nor the so-called political opposition will use the corruption against them. Public Official #14 is as good as in the Governor's Mansion in January of 2015. He will have a lot of help from the news media in this state, who will keep his corruption ties under wraps and will excoriate any Republican who would dare to say a word about it. Because of that, and because they value their personal popularity far more than their political effectiveness, no Republican worth anything in this state will bring it up. Running as a Democrat in this environment is practically as good as running unopposed.

My favorite tax lien of Ohio Republican Party CHAIRMAN Matt Borges is the one where he "liens" over and opens up a can of whoop-a** on the anonymous cowards behind this blog of "a-tax" and ends what little career they've had in politics.
