Defeat Chris Monzel for Commissioner

Dear fellow tax hikers, our plans to retain control of County Commission are under attack! Our sworn enemy Chris Monzel has decided to run for County Commissioner. We awarded Monzel our 2008 Enemy of the Treasury for everything he has done to oppose our high-tax agenda.

Monzel supports an agenda of lower taxes and spending restraints. For years Monzel has led the fight to freeze property tax rates in Cincinnati. Monzel opposed the huge $800 million Sales Tax increase that we and Ghiz supported. Monzel opposed the Mark Mallory/Leslie Ghiz Streetcar. When Ghiz voted to give the Freedom Center $800,000, Chris Monzel was the only member of City Council to oppose it. For all that he must be stopped!

If Monzel wins this race, he will join with fellow Republican Greg Hartmann to give this county a Commission majority of fiscal conservatives who support lower taxes and less spending. We cannot allow this to happen. By having Leslie Ghiz replace her mentor David Pepper on the County Commission, we would retain the tax-and-spend majority that we worked so hard to win in 2006.

Leslie Ghiz has earned our support. Ghiz voted for Pepper's Sales Tax hike and Mallory's $200 million Streetcar. And when Commission control was up for grabs in 2006, Ghiz endorsed the tax-and-spend Democrat David Pepper while Monzel backed the conservative Republican Phil Heimlich. What more do we tax hikers need to know? Leslie Ghiz for County Commissioner.

If Chris Monzel gets on the County Commission, all future plans for tax hikes are totally ruined. No new stadium taxes. That's why we must get Leslie Ghiz on board.

I proudly joined with Leslie Ghiz to endorse David Pepper when he last ran in 2006. I hope that the large contribution I made in the final days of the campaign, combined with Ghiz's endorsement, put Pepper over the top.

As I showed when I was Commissioner, tax-and-spend is the way to go. The Sales Tax increase I championed has transformed this county and the riverfront into something great. So great, we need to raise the Sales Tax again.

But Chris Monzel would never support it. He has to be stopped so I can get another Sales Tax hike through. Leslie Ghiz understands what needs to be done. If you liked me and David Pepper as Commissioners, you'll love Leslie Ghiz!

If I could vote in Hamilton County you can bet your sweet ass I'd vote for Ghiz and against that miser Monzel. We need Ghiz on the County Commission! When I needed support for the trolley in Cincinnati Ghiz gsve it to me. Screw Chris Monzel, support liberal Republican Ghiz!

I will do all I can to make sure Leslie Ghiz defeats Monzel. We need more middle of the road women like Leslie in the GOP who are pro-choice, pro-streetcar and not afraid to take on the right wingers.

You know the Greeks were the first to be defeated.

The Hamilton County GOP must be on dope if they think we're ever going to support Leslie Ghiz. Between her support of David Pepper, poor performance on Council, and a string of embarrassing incidents, anyone familiar with her knows she is totally unfit to lead our County. She and Laketa Cole should get a room together.

To all the readers of this blog of spin, do you really believe all of these defamatory remarks about Ghiz? Come on. It is comical and amazing that city tax dollars are being spent on Monzel staffers to write this blog and even more sad to know people are posting under false names. The funny thing is, this type of banter is simply raising the awareness of Leslie Ghiz to her benefit. Keep it up. Ghiz for Hamilton County Commission!

HCRR is really Scott Gehring trying desparately to get his old job back. Scott is tiring of working with sex offenders at VOA or whatever they're calling themselves now.
